Overview
The Vimar Eikon 20066 is a 1-module, double momentary push button insert with two independent normally-open contacts (1P NO + 1P NO), rated 10 A at 250 V AC and built to an IP40 protection level.
Each rocker operates its own circuit, so one location can control two separate functions. Both contacts can be closed at the same time, which is why this style is not intended for reversing motor control where electrical interlocking is required.
On a boat, it fits best in protected interior switch panels such as the cabin, navigation station, or inside a console. IP40 is suited to dry areas and won’t hold up in exposed cockpits, deck washdowns, or spots that see direct spray.
Key features
- Two independent momentary push buttons: 1P NO + 1P NO (two separate circuits in one 1-module insert)
- 10 A, 250 V AC contact rating for mains-side switching and control circuits
- Simultaneous closure is possible, so it is not suitable for reversing motor applications that need interlocking
- IP40 protection level for protected locations (interior panels, dry spaces)
- Flush-mount, modular format with engage (snap) fastening for compatible Eikon mounting hardware and plates
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with a matte surface finish
- No built-in illumination and no feedback-signal contact
Variants
This product is offered in multiple color configurations to match different Eikon plate and trim styles.
The differences between the options are the visible color/finish. The switching function and ratings remain the same across the range.
- VM20066.B: Color White. A light finish that suits bright interior panels and blends into common white switch banks.
- VM20066.N: Color Silver. A silver-toned finish that matches metallic-look trim and modern helm or cabin panels.
- VM20066: Color Grey. A neutral grey finish that works well in understated interiors and darker panel layouts.
Compatibility and fit
This is an Eikon-series 1-module insert, intended to be installed into a compatible Eikon support and finished with an appropriate plate. The visible module size is about 22.3 mm wide by 49 mm high, with roughly 39 mm of depth behind the plate, so allow space in the back box and for cable routing.
Installation and setup
Wire the two circuits independently, one per rocker, and verify the terminal layout before energizing. Use circuit protection appropriate to the load and keep connections secure so they stay tight under vibration. If you are using the push buttons to command higher loads or equipment with inrush current, route the load through a relay or controller and use this insert on the control side.
Use on board
This format is commonly used where you want a clean, compact control point for two momentary actions, such as triggering a relay, sounding a signal, or sending a brief command to an onboard control module. It is a good match for boats that already use Eikon plates and want consistent controls across cabins and consoles.
Maintenance and care
For routine cleaning, wipe the surface with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents that can haze or soften thermoplastic finishes.
