Overview
The Lumitec 101731 is a white retrofit housing kit that lets you mount a Capri3 flush-mount spreader or flood light in the existing recess from an earlier Capri or Capri2 light. It is meant for refits where you want the updated Capri3 mounting style while keeping the original cutout in your hardtop, tower, or arch.
The housing uses the same spring clip, clamp-in mounting style used by the Capri3 fixture, so the front face installs without exposed screws. Electrical performance is driven by the Capri3 light you pair it with, and Capri3 spreader lights run on 10-30 VDC for 12V and 24V systems.
Key features
- Retrofit housing for installing a Capri3 flush-mount light into an existing Capri or Capri2 recess
- Clamp-in, spring clip mounting style that keeps the face clean with no exposed fasteners
- White finish that blends in well on many hardtops, liners, and deck surfaces
- Helps avoid re-cutting or re-drilling when updating older Capri-series spreader and deck lights
- Covered by Lumitec limited warranty terms (5 years for products purchased on or after January 1, 2025)
Compatibility and fit
This retrofit kit is for boats that already have the recess from older Lumitec Capri or Capri2 flush-mount lights. It is used as the retrofit housing when stepping up to a Capri3 flush-mount fixture, so confirm you are installing a Capri3 light in the same location and that your existing cutout matches the earlier Capri-style recess.
Installation and setup
Typical install is a straightforward swap: remove the previous light, clean the recess, and check the wiring and sealing surface before bedding the housing as needed for your mounting area. The Capri3 light then seats into the retrofit housing and locks in with the Capri3 spring clips, which helps keep the installation tidy on a hardtop or tower where washdowns are common.
As with any exterior lighting on a boat, seal any disturbed penetrations to prevent water intrusion and keep wiring practices in line with ABYC guidance for circuit protection and connections.
Use on board
This retrofit kit makes sense for owners doing a hardtop or tower refresh who want the Capri3 mounting style without reworking gelcoat around the cutout. It is a practical fit for coastal cruisers and fishing boats that rely on spreader lighting at the dock, at anchor, and during night rigging.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the area after saltwater use and check the bedding line during routine inspections, especially on towers that see vibration. If you ever pull the light for service, inspect and renew sealing where needed before reinstalling.

We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
