Overview

The Vimar VM14801 is an IP40-rated surface mounting box that accepts one module from the Vimar Eikon, Arké, and Plana ranges.

It is a practical way to add a single Vimar modular device on a bulkhead or panel when you do not have space or access for a flush mounting box. The body is grey plastic with full insulation, and the enclosure size is about 6.8 x 8.3 x 5.5 cm for planning clearances behind cabinetry, inside consoles, or on interior liners.

Because it is IP40, it belongs in dry, protected areas on board. It is not meant for exposed cockpits, washdowns, or anywhere that sees direct spray.

Compatibility and fit

This is the mounting box only, meant to be used with a matching 1-module insert and cover plate from the Eikon, Arké, or Plana families. Confirm your device is the 1-module size and check that you have enough depth for terminations and bend radius for the cable behind the unit.

Installation and setup

Mount it on a flat, rigid surface and plan cable routing so conductors are not pinched when the device is fitted. On boats, it helps to keep terminations tidy, support wiring so it cannot work loose with vibration, and leave a small service loop for future maintenance.

Use on board

This enclosure fits refits and new builds that already standardize on Vimar modular hardware and need a clean surface-mount solution in cabins, nav stations, inside pilothouses, or within protected lockers. It is a good match when the goal is a neat single-module install without cutting into structural liners or finished joinery.
