Overview
The Vimar Eikon 20518 is a flush-mounted 1-module interface that brings two traditional switches, push-buttons, or other ON-OFF contact devices into a By-me Plus system. It has TP bus terminals, two NO contact inputs, LED indication, and IP40 protection in a thermoplastic housing with a matt finish.
On a boat, this suits control points where you want to keep familiar hard-wired contacts at the helm, in the cabin, or in a service space while tying them into the vessel's automation logic. The compact 1M format helps when panel space is limited and the visible finish needs to match the surrounding trim.
Electrical fit is worth checking before installation. The interface is powered from the 29 V bus, draws 15 mA, detects contact closure after 100 ms, and allows contact cable runs up to 30 m from the interface to the connected device.
Key features
- Connects 2 traditional devices or 2 NO contacts to a By-me Plus installation
- Flush-mounted 1M format for compact switch and control panels
- TP bus connection with 29 V bus supply and 15 mA input
- LED indication can be used to show input status
- Detects contact closure after 100 ms for switches, push-buttons, and simple ON-OFF signals
- Supports contact cable runs up to 30 m between the interface and the connected contacts
- IP40 rating for protected interior mounting points
Variants
This product is offered in three color configurations built around the same 2-input, 1-module interface format.
Across the listed variants, the function, flush-mounted 1M layout, bus connection, LED indication, and IP40 protection stay the same. The visible finish is what changes between versions.
- VM20518.B: Color White. This version has a white finish, close to RAL 9016, for lighter cabin panels and white trim.
- VM20518.N: Color Silver. This version has a silver-toned finish, close to RAL 9022, that works well with metal-look and modern interior panels.
- VM20518: Color Grey. This version is grey, close to RAL 7024, for darker panels and lower-contrast installations.
Compatibility and fit
This module belongs to the Vimar Eikon range and is intended for the By-me Plus platform. It should be matched to an existing By-me Plus installation rather than treated as a universal bus input.
Because the protection rating is IP40, it makes more sense in protected interior locations such as cabin panels, enclosed helm consoles, and interior utility spaces. It is less suited to exposed deck positions or other areas that see direct spray or washdowns.
Installation and setup
The interface uses two functional blocks, one for each input contact, and each block can belong to up to four groups. Operating modes include normal, reverse, toggle on contact closure, toggle on contact opening, ON only, and OFF only, which gives some flexibility when matching the interface to momentary buttons, maintained contacts, or simple status signals already installed on board.
This is a good match for boats already using Vimar By-me Plus hardware and wanting to keep conventional controls in the system instead of replacing every switch position with a different user interface. It also works well in refits where panel space is tight and a single-module input is easier to place cleanly.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
