Overview
The Vimar Eikon 20787 is a 7-module table mounting box for surface installation of modular domestic switching devices in dry interior spaces. It mounts horizontally, has an IP20 rating, and measures 206 x 80 x 67.6 mm, so it is best suited to tables, desks, and other furniture surfaces where a flush box is not practical.
This housing gives you a clean way to bring switching points onto a chart table, cabin desk, saloon table, or enclosed helm surface. The body is plastic with a matt finish, includes cable entry, and uses a halogen-free construction that suits modern interior electrical fit-outs.
It is supplied as the mounting box only, so the installation is completed with a compatible mounting frame and cover plate. On board, this type of enclosure makes sense for interior refits and new builds where the wiring needs to stay accessible and the finished installation needs to look tidy.
Key features
- 7-module surface-mount box for modular domestic switching devices
- Horizontal mounting format for tables, desks, and other interior surfaces
- IP20 housing for dry locations inside the vessel
- Plastic body with matt finish and halogen-free construction
- Integrated cable entry and shock-resistant housing
- Overall dimensions: 206 x 80 x 67.6 mm
- Requires a separate mounting frame and cover plate to complete the assembly
Variants
This product is offered in two colour configurations for the same 7-module table mounting box format.
The variant change is the housing colour. The box size, horizontal mounting layout, plastic construction, matt finish, IP20 protection, and the need for a separate mounting frame and cover plate remain the same across both versions.
- VM20787.B, white. This finish keeps the installation light in appearance and works well with white interior fittings, light-coloured furniture, and clean modern switch layouts.
- VM20787, grey. This finish gives a darker look that sits more quietly against grey trim, darker furniture, and technical interior spaces.
Compatibility and fit
This box is intended for modular domestic switching devices and is used as a surface-mounted housing rather than a flush box. The 7-module format matters when matching the box to the frame, cover plate, and device layout you plan to install.
Because the protection rating is IP20, it belongs in dry interior areas rather than exposed decks or washdown zones. It is a sensible match for boats that need switching points at a nav station, cabin work surface, saloon table, or another sheltered location where appearance and access both matter.
Installation and setup
The housing mounts horizontally on the chosen surface, with cable entry brought into the box before the frame and cover plate are fitted. The depth of 67.6 mm should be checked against the available clearance below the mounting surface, especially on furniture with drawers, lockers, or structural members underneath.
For marine refits, this style of box suits projects where drilling into bulkheads is not the preferred approach and where the switch position needs to sit directly on furniture or joinery. It is a good fit for owners and installers working on interior electrical upgrades in enclosed spaces.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
