Overview
The Garmin 010-12832-42 is a 70A trolling motor power receptacle used to create a secure disconnect point in the power feed for compatible Garmin Force and Force Kraken trolling motors.
It is typically mounted at the bow or in a bulkhead so the motor can be unplugged for trailering, storage, servicing, or a cleaner deck layout, instead of disturbing battery connections each time. These trolling motors are installed on a 24 or 36 Vdc battery bank and are commonly wired through a continuous 60A circuit breaker in the positive lead, so the receptacle rating leaves comfortable headroom for the system.
Key features
- 70A-rated power receptacle for high-current trolling motor connections
- Compatible with Force Kraken trolling motors and Force trolling motors
- Creates a quick-disconnect point at the bow or a bulkhead rather than hard-wiring the motor directly to the battery bank
- Supports common 24V and 36 Vdc trolling motor installations that require a continuous 60A circuit breaker in the power feed
- Helps reduce wear on battery posts and ring terminals when the motor is removed regularly
Compatibility and fit
This receptacle is intended for Garmin Force family trolling motors. It is not a universal trolling motor connector, so confirm your motor model before ordering if your boat has a mixed-brand setup or an older non-Force installation.
Installation and wiring notes
Plan the mounting location where the plug can be reached without putting the connection under foot traffic or in a spot that gets constantly sprayed. Use proper cable support and strain relief so the power leads are not hanging on the back of the receptacle, and size your wire gauge for the full run length and current draw of a 24V or 36V trolling motor circuit.
As with any high-current DC connection, clean crimps and tight hardware matter. After the first few trips, recheck the connection for heat, looseness, or discoloration, especially if the trolling motor sees long runs on high thrust.
Use on board
This receptacle makes the most sense on boats where the trolling motor comes off between trips, on multi-use bows where you want the deck clear, or when you want a service-friendly disconnect point without opening battery compartments. It is a straightforward upgrade for anglers who trailer often and want the power connection to be repeatable and easy to inspect.
Maintenance and care
Keep the mating faces clean and dry, and inspect the contacts periodically, especially after saltwater use. A light film of dielectric grease on the mating surfaces can help slow corrosion, and any sign of overheating is a cue to inspect cable size, terminations, and mounting tightness.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
