Overview
The Jabsco 35400-Series is a 4 inch flangemount ventilation blower for moving air through engine room, fuel compartment, galley, head, and bilge ventilation ducting on boats. It delivers 250 CFM of open air flow, equal to about 7.0 m³/min, and is offered in 12 VDC and 24 VDC versions so it can match the vessel’s DC electrical system.
This blower mounts to a flat bulkhead surface, with the outlet flange fixed at the bulkhead and a slip-on inlet connection for 4 inch ducting. That layout keeps the installation clean and helps route ventilation ducting with fewer bends, which matters in engine spaces and bilge areas where vapor extraction depends on practical hose routing.
The reinforced plastic housing, corrosion-resistant materials, and NMMA type acceptance make the 35400-Series a good fit for marine ventilation work where spray, vibration, and confined spaces are part of normal use. It meets USCG 183.410 and ISO 8846 MARINE for ignition protection and also complies with ISO 9097 MARINE.
Key features
- 250 CFM air flow for high-volume air intake or extraction through 4 inch ventilation ducting.
- Flangemount outlet installs directly to a flat bulkhead for a tidy layout with discharge ducting on the opposite side.
- Slip-on inlet ducting connection supports straightforward routing in engine rooms, bilges, galleys, and heads.
- Reinforced plastic housing with corrosion-resistant materials throughout for marine compartment use.
- NMMA type accepted and compliant with USCG 183.410, ISO 8846 MARINE, and ISO 9097 MARINE.
- 12 VDC version draws 12A and uses a suggested 15A fuse; 24 VDC version draws 5.3A and uses a suggested 7.5A fuse.
- Weighs 6 lb, or 2.7 kg, which is useful when planning bulkhead mounting and access for service.
Variants
The 35400-Series is offered in two electrical configurations for different DC systems. Both variants are the same 4 inch flangemount blower style and share the same 250 CFM air flow rating.
The voltage, current draw, and suggested fuse size vary by configuration. Matching the blower voltage to the vessel’s DC supply is the key difference when specifying this series.
- 35400-0000: Voltage 12 VDC. This version is for 12 VDC systems and is rated at 12A draw with a suggested 15A fuse.
- 35400-0010: Voltage 24 VDC. This version is for 24 VDC systems and is rated at 5.3A draw with a suggested 7.5A fuse.
Installation and setup
Install the blower on a flat bulkhead surface in the upper part of the compartment, away from spray or deck wash. The inlet ducting should be routed with as few bends as possible toward the lower third of the bilge area, where fuel vapors are more likely to collect, while staying high enough that it will not sit in bilge water.
For wiring runs up to 25 ft, use stranded copper wire sized for the selected voltage: 12 gauge for 12 VDC installations and 14 gauge for 24 VDC installations. Longer wire runs call for larger wire, and the circuit should be protected with the correct fuse for the selected model.
Use on board
This blower suits boats that need forced ventilation for engine spaces, fuel compartments, galleys, heads, or other areas where air needs to be exchanged through ducting. It is primarily meant for intermittent operation, such as clearing fuel vapors from bilge areas before starting engines.
It can also be used for general air circulation where the duty cycle is acceptable, but it is not the right choice for applications that require continuous-duty operation. Keep it away from direct heat above 130°F, or 55°C, to protect the blower wheel and housing.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
