Overview
The TACO Marine GS-900-1 is a Grand Slam 900 masthead anchor and stern light kit with a manual crank base for raising and lowering the light from below the hardtop. It helps keep the light upright when needed and stowed for towing or storage without climbing onto the gunnel or reaching over the top.
The light runs on 12 volts and uses four 3-watt Cree LED chips driven by two Mean Well drivers. The mount has a standard 1"-14 male threaded shaft, fits hardtops up to 2" thick, and includes 32.75" of tube so the installer can trim the light tube to the height needed for the boat.
This is a practical fit for center consoles, fishing boats, and hardtop-equipped powerboats where a top-mounted navigation light needs to be operated safely from the deck. The machined anodized aluminum body, cast stainless steel rotator, polished Type 316L stainless steel crank handle, and IP66 water-resistance rating suit exposed marine mounting locations where spray, sun, and vibration are part of normal use.
Key features
- Manual crank operation lets the anchor and stern light lift into position or fold down into a stowed position from below the top.
- 12V LED light uses four 3-watt Cree chips with two Mean Well drivers for efficient navigation lighting.
- Certified for 3 NM visibility and intended for boats up to 39' or 12 meters in length.
- Standard 1"-14 male threaded shaft works with the included light and shaft assembly.
- Mounts through hardtops up to 2" thick for common T-top and hardtop installations.
- IP66 water-resistance rating helps protect the unit in spray and washdown-prone areas.
- Machined anodized aluminum body with a brushed finish pairs with a cast stainless steel rotator for exposed tops.
- Polished Type 316L stainless steel crank handle folds and locks flush into the base when not in use.
- Delrin bearings and roller bearings in the crank assembly support smooth lift and descent.
- Includes 32.75" of tube so the installer can cut the light tube to suit the final mounting height.
Installation and setup
The GS-900-1 is made for hardtop mounting and should be positioned where the raised light has the required visibility and where the stowed light will not interfere with antennas, canvas, outriggers, or other hardware. The threaded shaft gives the light a controlled lift and descent, while the folding crank handle keeps the base cleaner when the light is not being operated.
The mount includes a 4" x 1/4" round backing plate, but mounting hardware is not included. For angled tops, the GS-900 can pair with the WP-800-900 6-degree wedge plate, which is sold separately.
Electrical and lighting use
This unit is for 12V DC boat electrical systems. It is suited to vessels that need a top-mounted masthead anchor and stern light that can be raised for navigation or anchoring and then lowered before trailering, towing, storage, or low-clearance situations.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
