Overview
The Vimar Eikon master dimmer push button is a 230 V, 2-module dimmer for incandescent lamps and ferromagnetic transformers, with a 40 to 500 W load range at 50 Hz, 40 to 400 W at 60 Hz, and 40 to 500 VA at 50 Hz or 40 to 400 VA at 60 Hz for transformer loads. It uses MOSFET+TRIAC technology and can be controlled from the built-in push button or from peripheral NO push buttons.
For boats that use 230 V AC lighting circuits in protected interior spaces, this unit gives you flush-mounted dimming control in a compact format. The body is thermoplastic with a matt finish, the front measures 44.8 x 49 x 42 mm, and the protection rating is IP40, so it suits cabins, salons, and similar dry areas rather than exposed deck locations.

Variants
This product is offered in two finish options within the same Eikon dimmer format.
The change between variants is the visible color and finish. The electrical rating, 2-module size, flush-mounted installation, push-button operation, supported load types, and IP40 protection remain the same across both versions.
- VM20165.N: Color Silver. This version uses the silver Next finish and gives the control point a lighter look on interior switch panels.
- VM20165: Color Grey. This version uses a grey matt finish that blends more quietly with darker trim and panel surrounds.
Compatibility and fit
This dimmer is for 230 V AC installations. It is not a 12 V or 24 V DC lighting control, which matters on boats that split low-voltage DC services from AC interior circuits. The confirmed supported loads are incandescent lamps and ferromagnetic transformers, so other load types should not be assumed compatible unless they are matched elsewhere in the system design.
Its flush-mounted, click-in format suits finished interior panels where a clean faceplate layout matters. On board, it is a good match for yachts and larger vessels with AC cabin lighting circuits, especially in saloons, guest spaces, and other protected living areas.
Installation and use on board
Because the unit is rated IP40, it is better placed away from washdowns, spray, and open-weather exposure. It fits best in dry interior spaces where the dimmer can stay protected from salt residue and direct moisture. That makes it a sensible choice for cabin refits, new interior switch panels, or replacement work in existing Eikon installations.
