Overview
The Perko 1428 is an EPA compliant sealed flip top fuel fill for 1-1/2 inch fuel fill hose, made with a 35° angled neck and an integrated vent path for marine fuel systems. It uses a flip top cap with vacuum pressure relief and includes an integral tank vent with flame arrestor, which helps keep the deck hardware layout simpler on compatible installations.
The angled neck is useful where the fuel hose needs to leave the fill at an angle under a side deck, gunwale, splashwell, or cockpit sole. The fill works with 5/8 inch vent hose and has a 2-7/16 inch neck length, giving installers clear fit points to check before replacing an older deck fill or planning a new fuel fill location.
Key features
- Fits 1-1/2 inch fuel fill hose and 5/8 inch vent hose.
- 35° angled neck helps the hose route away from the fill in tight or sloped deck areas.
- Flip top cap includes vacuum pressure relief for EPA compliant fuel system layouts.
- Integral tank vent with flame arrestor supports installations that use a vented fuel fill arrangement.
- No deck plate key or ground wire is required for normal installation.
- Polymer body is available in black or white to match surrounding deck hardware and trim.
Variants
This Perko 1428 fuel fill is offered in two color configurations for matching different deck and cockpit layouts.
The confirmed difference between the variants is color. The 35° angled neck, 1-1/2 inch fuel fill hose fit, 5/8 inch vent hose fit, vacuum pressure relief cap, integral tank vent with flame arrestor, and 2-7/16 inch neck length remain the same across both versions.
- 1428G00BLK: Color Black. The black version suits darker deck hardware, black consoles, and installations where the fill should blend into darker trim.
- 1428G00WHT: Color White. The white version works well on light gelcoat decks, cockpit soles, and other areas where matching white hardware gives a cleaner appearance.
Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm that the deck location has room for the 35° hose exit and that the fuel fill hose can run without kinking below the mounting surface. This is especially important on smaller boats, center consoles, and cockpit areas where the underside of the deck may have limited clearance.
Use the stated hose sizes when checking compatibility with an existing fuel system. The integrated vent and no ground wire requirement can simplify the hardware layout, but the boat's fuel system routing, venting arrangement, and applicable marine installation practices still need to be followed.
Use on board
This fuel fill is a practical fit for builders and boat owners replacing an EPA compliant deck fuel fill with a flip top cap, pressure relief, and an angled hose connection. It is best suited to installations where the hose path benefits from an angled neck rather than a straight drop below the cap.
