Overview

The Vimar VM20005.0 is a 1-pole 16 AX two-way switch mechanism rated 250 V~ that can be fitted with optional illumination for finding the switch in low light.

It is commonly used for lighting circuits where you want control from two locations, such as a companionway light that can be switched from both the entry and the cabin.

The body occupies 1 module and is completed with the matching Eikon rocker/button and cover plate. Overall size is 22.3 mm wide by 49.0 mm high, with a 25.0 mm built-in depth.

Key features
  • 16 AX switching rating at 250 V~ for many onboard AC lighting and general loads
  • Two-way (SPDT) mechanism for single-point switching or two-location control when paired in a circuit
  • Optional illumination with a replaceable LED lamp for orientation/control lighting
  • 1-module format for Vimar Eikon modular frames and cover plates
  • Screw terminals for a secure connection when panels see vibration
  • Suitable degree of protection IP40 in its intended installed configuration
  • Rated up to 200 W with self-ballasted lamps
Compatibility and fit

This mechanism is for Vimar Eikon modular frames and plates. It snaps into the frame, and the wiring lands on screw terminals, so leave enough space behind the panel to route conductors without putting strain on the connections.

Because the mechanism is listed as suitable for IP40, it belongs in protected locations such as the cabin, nav station, or inside a sheltered helm panel. For areas exposed to spray or washdowns, mount it behind a weather-protected panel or inside an enclosure that provides the protection level you need.

Electrical and lighting notes

Use it on AC circuits within its 250 V~ rating and size the upstream breaker or fuse to the load and your wiring. The 16 AX rating covers many lighting applications where inrush current matters.

If you want the switch to light up, it supports a replaceable LED lamp for orientation/control lighting. Match the lamp to your system voltage and the indicator style you want on the panel.

Materials and finish

The housing is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matte anthracite gray finish similar to RAL 7024, which suits gray Eikon rockers and plates on modern switch panels.

On-board use

This is a good match for refits and new builds that standardize on Vimar Eikon modules across a helm or cabin switch bank and want the same feel and layout from position to position.

Maintenance

After the first few outings, recheck terminal tightness and wire support, especially if the panel sees vibration. Clean with a soft cloth and mild soap and avoid solvents that can haze plastic parts.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
