Overview
The Vimar Idea View Wireless gateway is a flush-mounted 2-module control bridge that links compatible View Wireless devices to the View App, cloud access, and voice assistant control over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It runs on 100 to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz and carries an IP40 rating for protected interior spaces.
On board, this fits boats with an AC electrical system where lighting scenes or other View Wireless functions need to be managed from a phone or tablet instead of only from the wall point. One gateway can handle up to 64 devices, which gives it enough headroom for anything from a small cabin refit to a more connected interior layout across salon, cabins, and protected helm areas.
Key features
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi gateway for setup, supervision, and remote access within a View Wireless system
- Works with the View App and supports Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri
- 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz power input for installations with onboard AC service
- Supports up to 64 View Wireless devices on a single gateway
- Flush-mounted 2-module format within the Vimar Idea range
- IP40 protection for dry, protected interior mounting locations
- LED indication, built-in web server, radio interface, and firmware update capability
Variants
This gateway is offered in two color configurations within the Idea range.
The listed variants differ by color and part number. The gateway function, 2-module format, 100 to 240 V AC supply, and View Wireless connectivity stay the same across both versions.
- VM16497, Color Gray. Gray gives the front a darker look that blends well with darker switch trim and panel finishes.
- VM16497.B, Color Ivory. Ivory gives the front a lighter look that suits cabin panels and trim with a pale finish.
Compatibility and fit
This unit belongs in protected interior locations such as a cabin bulkhead, salon switch position, or another dry accommodation space. IP40 is suitable for enclosed areas, but it is not intended for open decks, lockers that take spray, or spaces exposed to washdowns or heavy moisture.
It is part of the Vimar Idea family, so fit and finish matter most on boats already using that series or on new panels built around Idea devices. Because it is flush-mounted and takes 2 modules, panel space and box depth should be checked before final placement.
Installation and setup
Commissioning and later changes are handled through the View Wireless app, which keeps setup work straightforward when a boat is being refitted in stages. Firmware can be updated later, and the LED indication helps during installation and troubleshooting.
This gateway is a good match for owners and installers adding app-based control to interior functions without running extra control cabling through finished joinery. Boats that run only 12 V or 24 V DC without a 100 to 240 V AC supply will need a different control path.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
