Overview
The Simrad 000-11043-002 is a GS25 GPS antenna with a built-in heading sensor that puts position, speed, and magnetic heading on your NMEA 2000 network. It supports update rates up to 10 Hz and runs from the network supply (9 to 18 V DC) with a 2 LEN load, so it fits cleanly into standard 12V systems and many 24V installations through the NMEA 2000 backbone power.
On board, it is commonly mounted on a hardtop, radar arch, or a clear patch of deck where it can see the sky. The heading output helps stabilize the chart at low speeds and keeps radar overlay lined up when you are maneuvering. It is not a replacement for a rate compass for MARPA or autopilot steering functions that require that class of sensor.
The housing is IPX7 waterproof and low-profile (90 mm diameter x 38 mm height), which helps when you want an external antenna without adding much windage.

Installation and setup
Mount it where it has a clean view of the sky and is away from strong magnetic sources like speakers, high-current cabling, or large ferrous structures. A compass-safe distance of 0.5 m (20") is specified, which is a helpful baseline when planning the layout on a smaller helm.
Network connection is straight NMEA 2000: add the included T-connector to the backbone, connect the drop, and make sure the backbone is powered and terminated correctly. Keep the NMEA 2000 drop length within 4.55 m (15 ft).
The heading sensor needs calibration on the water so it can account for magnetic influences on your vessel. Plan on making two smooth 360-degree turns, then continuing into an additional turn and a quarter within about 2 to 5 minutes for the calibration routine to complete.
Compatibility and system integration
The GS25 shares position, COG/SOG, and heading data over NMEA 2000, so it can feed multiple displays and devices on the network at the same time. It connects to Simrad NS Series multifunction displays and also works as a general NMEA 2000 GPS and heading source for compatible equipment.
If your setup uses MARPA target tracking or autopilot steering that calls for a rate-stabilized heading sensor, plan on a dedicated rate compass for those functions and use the GS25 primarily for GPS and magnetic heading related tasks like chart stabilization and radar overlay alignment.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund.
