Overview

The Vimar Idea 16290 is a 3-module shaver supply unit for flush-mounted Vimar Idea installations where a protected grooming outlet is needed in a head, cabin, or guest washroom on board. It runs on 230 V AC at 50-60 Hz, uses a 20 VA isolating transformer, and supplies 120 V for American standard 2P 15 A 125 V plugs with non-polarized blades and 230 V for 2.5 A Europlugs.

This is a thermoplastic unit with a matt finish, built to sit within the Idea modular system rather than work as a stand-alone outlet. For boat refits and replacements, the main checks are the 3-module layout, flush-mount installation, and compatibility with the surrounding Vimar Idea support and cover plate already on board.

This product is offered in two color configurations within the same Idea 16290 shaver supply format.

The variation shown here is color. The core format stays centered on the same 3-module, flush-mounted shaver supply layout with 230 V input, a 20 VA isolating transformer, and separate outputs for the supported American and European plug formats.

• VM16290.B / Color Ivory. This is the lighter finish in the range and suits interiors with light switch plates, light panel trims, or brighter washroom spaces.
• VM16290 / Color Gray. This is the darker finish in the range and works well where nearby Idea devices, wall panels, or trim pieces already follow a gray scheme.

Installation and fit

Check the vessel's electrical side before ordering. This unit belongs on a 230 V AC circuit and is not a 12 V or 24 V DC accessory. It also needs the correct flush-mount box and Idea system support because the installation box is not included.

The 20 VA transformer places it in the shaver-supply category rather than general appliance use. On board, that makes it a sensible match for heads and guest spaces where a dedicated shaver outlet is needed without changing the rest of an existing Idea panel layout.

Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch

If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund.
