Overview
The Vimar Idea is a double 2P+E 15 A 127 V SICURY socket outlet for American and Saudi Arabian standard plugs in a 3-module format. It is a flush-mounted device with two outlets, screw terminals, enhanced contact protection, and an IP20 rating. The body is made from halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt finish.
On board, this type of outlet fits dry interior spaces where you need a built-in AC connection for cabin, saloon, or galley use on a 127 V circuit. At 74.8 x 50.1 x 36.5 mm, it stays compact enough for tight panel areas while still giving you two receptacles in one device.
Key features
- Double 2P+E outlet layout for two 15 A 127 V connections in one 3-module device
- Accepts American and Saudi Arabian standard plug format
- SICURY shutter system with enhanced contact protection
- Flush-mounted installation with screw-terminal wiring
- IP20 protection for sheltered interior locations
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with matt surface finish
- Label space on the front for circuit identification
- 50 to 60 Hz rated device for standard onboard AC distribution in the correct voltage range
Variants
This outlet is offered in two color configurations within the same Vimar Idea format.
Across these two variants, the outlet format, 15 A 127 V rating, 3-module size, screw-terminal connection, flush-mounted installation, enhanced contact protection, and IP20 protection stay the same. The visible difference is the front color.
- VM16243: Color Grey. The grey finish gives a lower-contrast look on darker panels, helm areas, or modern interior trim.
- VM16243.B: Color Ivory. This light finish keeps the same outlet layout and works where a brighter trim color is preferred.
Installation and fit
Check that the installation point is set up for a flush-mounted 3-module Vimar Idea device and that the circuit is a 127 V AC branch protected to the correct standard for the boat. This outlet is not a weatherproof fitting, so it belongs in sheltered interior locations rather than open decks, heads, or other spray-prone spaces.
The screw terminals suit fixed wiring, and the front label area helps when the boat has multiple AC outlets or separate shore power and inverter-fed circuits. Enhanced contact protection is also useful in cabins and shared interior spaces where guests or crew may be using the outlet regularly.
Use on board
This outlet is a good match for boats that use 127 V AC distribution with American-style receptacles and need a neat, built-in duplex outlet inside the accommodation areas. It also makes sense in refit work where panel space is limited and the rest of the interior is already built around Vimar Idea modules.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
