Overview
The Vimar Idea 16210 SICURY socket outlet is a 2-module universal outlet rated at 16 A and 250 V for flush-mounted installations. It uses the IDEA module format, includes SICURY contact protection, and carries an IP20 rating, so it suits protected interior spaces on board rather than exposed deck areas or wet lockers.
It accepts 2.5 A Europlugs, 2P and 2P+E 10 A and 16 A Italian plugs, 2P+E 16 A German plugs, and 2P 15 A 125 V American plugs with non-polarized flat blades. With a 2P+E 16 A 250 V French standard plug, the earth connection is not realized. The body measures 49.80 mm wide, 50.10 mm high, and 41.90 mm deep.
This is a plain AC outlet with screwed terminals, a front label space, and no hinged lid, USB charger, or built-in switch. On a boat, it makes sense where the vessel already uses Vimar IDEA hardware and needs a compact shore-power or inverter-fed outlet in a dry cabin, galley, or navigation area.
Key features
- 16 A, 250 V universal outlet in the Vimar IDEA 2-module format

- IP20 thermoplastic construction with halogen-free material and matte finish
- French 2P+E 16 A 250 V plugs can be inserted, but the earth connection is not realized
Variants
This outlet is offered in multiple color configurations.
Across the range, the electrical format stays the same: one 16 A, 250 V universal outlet in a 2-module flush-mounted body with SICURY contact protection, screwed terminals, and IP20 protection. The confirmed difference between variants is the face color.
- VM16210.B: Color Ivory. This is the light finish in the range and keeps the outlet understated against pale interior trim.
- VM16210.R: Color Red. The red face stands out quickly, which helps when circuits need fast visual identification on a panel or cabin wall.
- VM16210: Color Gray. The gray finish blends more easily into darker switch panels and utility spaces.
Compatibility and fit
This outlet belongs on an AC circuit, not on a 12 V or 24 V DC branch. For marine refits, the main fit check is the vessel's use of Vimar IDEA support hardware and the available space for a 2-module flush-mounted device.
Because the front is IP20, it is better suited to enclosed locations such as cabins, saloons, chart tables, and similar protected areas. It is not the right match for open cockpits, deck washdown zones, or any mounting point that sees regular spray.
Installation and onboard use
The screwed terminal layout is familiar for conventional wiring work and works well where a fixed AC outlet is being added or replaced during a panel refit. The label space is useful when the outlet is tied to a specific shore-power, inverter, or dedicated onboard circuit.
This makes sense for boat owners and yards that want an outlet face consistent with the rest of an IDEA-based interior while keeping plug compatibility broad for common European and some American plug types used aboard.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
