Overview
The Vimar Idea 16261 SICURY Australian socket outlet is a 2P+E 10 A 250 V outlet for Australian standard AS/NZS 3112 plugs, built in a 2-module format for flush-mounted Vimar Idea installations. It uses screwed terminal connections, includes enhanced SICURY contact protection, and carries an IP20 rating for protected interior locations.
For boat interiors, this is the kind of outlet that fits cabins, saloons, galleys, and other enclosed spaces where Australian-style AC power is used. The body is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt finish, and the device measures 49.8 mm wide, 50.1 mm high, and 38.7 mm deep, which helps when checking frame compatibility and available depth behind the panel.
Key features
- Australian standard AS/NZS 3112 type I socket outlet with 2P+E layout
- Rated 10 A, 250 V, 50 to 60 Hz for standard AC circuits
- SICURY shutter system with enhanced contact protection
- 2-module device for flush-mounted Vimar Idea installations
- Screwed terminal connection for fixed wiring
- IP20 construction for protected interior areas rather than exposed deck or washdown zones
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with matt finish and label surface
Variants
This outlet is offered in two colour configurations within the same Idea 2-module Australian socket format.
The difference between these variants is the visible front colour. The electrical rating, outlet layout, SICURY contact protection, mounting style, and 2-module footprint stay the same across the listed versions.
- VM16261.B, Color: Ivory. This lighter finish suits light liners, pale joinery, and switch layouts where the outlet should stay visually discreet.
- VM16261, Color: Gray. This darker finish works better with grey panels and other trim pieces in a darker interior scheme.
Installation and fit
This is a fixed-wired outlet with a flush-mounted form, so it belongs in an AC circuit that is already planned around the vessel's shore power or inverter distribution. It does not include a built-in switch, USB charging, loop-through wiring, overvoltage protection, or fault current protection, so those functions need to be handled elsewhere in the system where required.
Check that the mounting position accepts a 2-module Vimar Idea device and that there is enough depth for the 38.7 mm body and cable termination space. Because the outlet is IP20, it is better suited to protected interior bulkheads and furniture panels than cockpits, lazarettes, or other wet areas.
Compatibility and use on board
This outlet makes sense for boats already using Vimar Idea modular hardware and Australian-style AC plugs for cabin loads such as chargers, small galley appliances, or other interior equipment. It is also a straightforward replacement when you need to keep the same module size, terminal style, and Australian socket format across the vessel.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
