Overview
The Vimar VM16713 is a 3-module mounting frame that holds Vimar IDEA modular devices steady in a compatible 3-module mounting box so the front plate sits flush and does not shift over time.
It mounts with screws and the modules fasten from the back side of the frame, which helps when you want to wire the devices first and then bring the assembly forward for final alignment. The grey thermoplastic body does not corrode, which is handy around damp lockers and humid cabins, but it still relies on the box and plate to keep everything protected from spray.
Key features
- 3-module frame for Vimar IDEA installations on compatible 3-module mounting boxes
- Supplied with fixing screws for a screw-mounted install that stays put on boats that see vibration
- Modules mount from the back side of the frame for cleaner wiring and easier device positioning
- Can be installed horizontally or vertically while still supporting three modules
- Thermoplastic construction in grey for a clean match behind common IDEA cover plates
- No built-in installation box, so the correct flush-mount box behind the panel or bulkhead is required
- Not intended for 60 mm round junction boxes or wall-duct style systems
Compatibility and fit
This frame is meant for Vimar IDEA 3-module cover plates and the matching 3-module mounting boxes used in that system. It is commonly used behind modular switches, sockets, and low-voltage inserts where you want three devices grouped in one position.
Before ordering, confirm you have a rectangular 3-module box at the mounting location and that your plate and inserts are from the IDEA range. If your cutout is for a 60 mm round box, this is not the right support.
Installation and setup
Fasten the frame to the mounting box with the included screws, then secure the module inserts from the back side. Once the wiring is terminated and strain-relieved inside the box, fit the front plate and verify the devices sit square to the bulkhead or panel. In areas that may see moisture, keep terminations protected inside a suitable box and route cables to avoid drip paths.
Use on board
This is a good match for boats already using the Vimar IDEA modular system, especially for refits where you are cleaning up a helm switch bank, a nav-station outlet cluster, or a cabin control point and want a tidy 3-module layout.
Maintenance and care
After the first few runs, recheck screw tightness if the panel is exposed to vibration. Clean the visible edges with mild soap and water and avoid aggressive solvents that can haze plastics.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
