Overview

The Vimar Idea is a modular 1-pole normally open push button for built-in switch points where a momentary contact and a light symbol are needed. It is rated 10 A at 250 V and carries an IP40 protection rating, so it belongs in protected interior spaces rather than exposed deck or washdown areas.

This push button is part of the Idea range and uses a snap-in built-in mounting format. The body is thermoplastic, halogen-free, and finished in matt plastic, with a label space on the front. On board, it fits interior lighting controls, cabin service panels, and other dry locations where the switch layout already follows the Vimar Idea platform.

Variants

This product is offered in four configurations. The switching format stays the same across the range, while the finish and the presence of a luminescent front indicator change from one version to another.

All variants remain part of the Vimar Idea series and use the same built-in modular push-button format. The versions marked with an indicator add a luminescent symbol that stays easier to locate when the surrounding area is dim.

• VM16081: Color Gray, No Indicator. This is the plain front version for switch positions that are already easy to identify in normal interior light.
• VM16081.B: Color Ivory, No Indicator. It keeps the same contact arrangement in the lighter finish used across the Idea range.
• VM16081.F: Color Gray, With Indicator. The front symbol remains easier to see in low ambient light.
• VM16081.F.B: Color Ivory, With Indicator. It combines the lighter finish with the same low-light symbol visibility.

Compatibility and fit

This is a built-in modular device for the Vimar Idea system, so fit depends on the vessel or panel already using that platform. Check the matching Idea support, cover plate, and available box depth before ordering, and note that this is a momentary push button rather than a latching switch.

Because the housing is rated IP40, it is better suited to cabins, enclosed helm stations, service spaces, and other protected locations. It is not the right match for exposed positions that see direct spray, heavy condensation, or regular washdowns.

Installation and setup

The module fastens by snap engagement in a built-in arrangement. The front label space is useful when several momentary controls are grouped on the same panel and each circuit needs to stay clearly identified.

For electrical integration, confirm that the circuit matches a 10 A, 250 V normally open push-button contact and that the controlled device expects momentary operation. It is a sensible fit for refits that replace an existing Idea push button or for new interior panels built around the same series.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund.
