Overview
The Vimar Idea 2-way push button is a 2-pole modular control rated at 10 A and 250 V, with six terminals, directional arrows, and a central OFF position. It suits protected interior switchboards where the panel is built around Vimar Idea modules and the circuit needs a clearly marked up and down style control.
The body clips in with snap fastening and uses a built-in modular format. IP40 protection, a halogen-free thermoplastic body, and a matt finish make it better suited to helm, cabin, and service panels that stay out of direct spray, rather than open deck locations or areas that take regular washdown.
Key features
- 2-pole push button rated at 10 A and 250 V for circuits that match those electrical limits
- Six-terminal layout with directional arrows and a central OFF position for up and down style control inputs
- Built-in modular format with snap fastening for Vimar Idea switchboards and matching panel hardware
- IP40 protection for protected interior mounting points on board
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with matt finish
- 24.8 mm device width and 43.6 mm depth, which helps when checking fit behind a compact panel
- Label surface for circuit identification on a busy switchboard
Variants
This product is offered in more than one finish so the switch can match the surrounding panel hardware.
Across both variants, the switch function stays the same: 2 poles, 10 A, 250 V, six terminals, directional arrows, central OFF position, built-in snap fastening, thermoplastic construction, and IP40 protection. The listed differences are finish color and published device height.
- VM16155: Color Grey. This is the darker finish in the range, and the published device height is 50.1 mm.
- VM16155.B: Color Ivory. This is the lighter finish in the range, and the published device height is 48.0 mm.
Compatibility and fit
This switch belongs to the Vimar Idea modular range, so it is a fit only where the panel uses Idea-compatible supports and cover plates. For replacement work, the main checks are module family, rear clearance, and whether the existing switch uses the same 2-pole directional function with a central OFF position.
On board, it makes more sense in a dry helm console, cabin control panel, or interior service area than on an exposed bridge or weather-facing deck panel. It is a good match for boat owners replacing an existing Idea directional switch or building a custom interior switchboard around the same system.
Installation and use on board
The directional arrows and center OFF layout are useful where the control circuit needs a clearly marked up and down command. That can include reversible control functions on interior panels, provided the wiring arrangement and circuit rating match the application.
Because this is a non-illuminated push button in a modular built-in format, it works best where the panel already handles identification and backlighting separately. Before installation, check terminal layout and clearance behind the panel so the new switch matches the space and wiring already on the boat.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
