Overview
The Vimar VM13533 is an IP55 surface-mount enclosure for a 3-module Vimar Idea installation, finished in grey RAL 7035. It is used when you need a protected housing on top of a bulkhead or panel instead of cutting a recessed opening.
The enclosure accepts up to 3 Idea modules or 3 8000 special modules, and it is supplied with three 08491 adaptors for fitting 8000 standard modules. Compatibility and fit
This enclosure is intended for the Vimar Idea module system and the 8000 module formats noted above. Before ordering, confirm that your devices and frames are from the Idea or 8000 family, since other Vimar series use different module geometry and will not seat correctly.
Installation and setup
Mount it on a flat surface that is firm and free of deep grooves so the enclosure can close evenly. Plan cable routing so conductors are supported and not pulled tight, especially in areas that vibrate underway. If the installation includes any cable entry points, take care to seal them properly so water cannot track into the enclosure from behind the panel.
Use on board
This enclosure makes sense for boats running Vimar Idea or 8000 modular devices that need a surface-mount point in exposed locations such as a cockpit switch position, a companionway area, or a utility locker. It is meant for splashes and washdowns, not for spaces that can flood or sit underwater.
Maintenance and care
Rinse off salt residue when needed and keep the closing surfaces clean so the enclosure can seal as intended. During routine checks, look for wire chafe inside the box and resecure any conductors that have loosened from vibration before closing it back up.
