Overview
The Vimar Idea 16431 indicator unit is a one-module flush-mounted signalling insert for switch panels that use the Idea modular system. It accepts ø 6.3x28 mm or ø 7x31 mm lamps, is rated for 250 V, and carries an IP40 protection rating, so it fits best in protected interior spaces rather than exposed deck locations.
On board, this type of unit works as a visual status point in places such as a cabin switch bank, an enclosed helm console, or a service panel where a small light helps confirm circuit status at a glance. The thermoplastic body is halogen-free, the finish is matt, and the unit is supplied without a lamp so the lamp can be matched to the panel setup already in use.

- Thermoplastic construction with halogen-free material and a matt surface finish
- Supplied without lamp
Variants
This range is offered in multiple configurations that change the housing color and the diffuser color. Across the six variants, the diffuser is available in white, green, or red, and the housing is offered in gray and a light finish.
The base format stays the same across the range: each version is a one-module flush-mounted indicator unit for the Vimar Idea system, rated at 250 V with IP40 protection, and built to accept ø 6.3x28 mm or ø 7x31 mm lamps. All versions are supplied without a lamp.
Compatibility and fit
This unit is meant for installations that already use the Vimar Idea modular platform. It is not a standalone panel light or a navigation light, so fit should be checked against the matching support, cover plate, and panel layout used in the existing switch assembly.
For marine use, the main fit question is location. IP40 makes sense for interior positions that stay protected from spray, washdowns, and direct weather, so it is better suited to cabins and enclosed control areas than open deck mounting points.
Installation and setup
The insert mounts flush and locks in place with snap fastening, which helps keep the front of the panel neat once it is installed in the correct modular support. Before ordering, check the module space available in the panel and confirm the lamp format required by the rest of the circuit, since this unit takes either ø 6.3x28 mm or ø 7x31 mm lamps and does not include the lamp itself.
Use on board
This is a good match for boats that already use Vimar Idea switching and need a simple visual indicator in a protected interior panel. It suits owners, installers, and refit yards working on cabin lighting panels, utility spaces, and enclosed helm stations where a clear signal point matters more than open-weather sealing.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
