Overview

The Hella Marine 002807801 is a 3-pole plug and socket set for creating a disconnect point in a 12V DC circuit on board. It is commonly used where you want to unplug a deck or spreader light, a removable accessory, or a section of wiring without cutting and re-terminating cables.

This connector is rated up to 22 A at 12 V DC and is sized for cable outer diameter up to 6.5 mm. The body is brass with a chrome-plated finish, and the compact housing measures about 2.6 in long by 1.5 in diameter.

The threaded coupling keeps the connection locked in place when the boat is vibrating or when wiring is tugged during maintenance. A sealing cap helps protect the socket end when it is not plugged in.

Key features
  • 3-pole plug and socket connection for three conductors in one tidy disconnect
  • Threaded coupling to keep the plug secured against vibration and movement
  • Sealing cap for the socket end when unplugged
  • Rated up to 22 A at 12 V DC for higher-draw 12V accessories
  • Fits cables up to 6.5 mm outer diameter for a clean strain-relieved entry
  • Brass housing with a chrome-plated finish and brass contact parts
  • Bulkhead-mount socket with retaining nut for a fixed, panel-mounted installation
Installation and setup

Mount the socket through a suitable bulkhead or panel and secure it with the retaining nut so the connection stays fixed when you plug and unplug. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and leave enough service loop to access the rear terminals without pulling on the conductors.

Because this sits in the boat’s DC system, wiring should be done by someone who is comfortable with correct polarity, circuit protection, and safe cable routing. Match the circuit fuse to the load and the wire size used in your run.

Compatibility and fit

This connector is a good fit for 12V DC circuits up to 22 A where you need three conductors through a single disconnect. Confirm your cable jacket measures 6.5 mm or less in outer diameter so it can be properly sealed and supported at the entry.

If the connector will live in an exposed spot, mount it where it can drain and where spray will not pool around the connection. Keep the sealing cap on the socket any time the plug is removed.

Use on board

It works well as a service-friendly disconnect for deck and spreader lights on masts, for cockpit accessories that come off for storage, and for wiring runs that occasionally need to be separated during troubleshooting or refits. It also makes sense on trailerable boats where certain items are removed between trips.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt residue off the exterior during routine washdowns and keep the threads clean so the coupling can fully tighten. If the connector is unplugged for long periods, use the sealing cap and store the plug end where it stays dry and out of bilge water.

A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
