Overview
The Vimar Idea 16145 is a built-in 2P 10 AX 250 V 2-way switch from the IDEA range, with six terminals, directional arrows and a central OFF position. It uses a rocker front and is rated for self-ballasted lamp loads up to 100 W.
The switch body is made from halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt finish, and it mounts into the support with snap fastening. IP40 protection makes it a fit for enclosed interior spaces on board where the device is kept away from spray and washdowns.
Key features
- 2-pole switching layout rated 10 AX at 250 V
- Six-terminal configuration with directional arrows and a central OFF position
- Built-in IDEA modular device with engage snap fastening
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with matt surface finish
- IP40 protection for protected interior installations
- Suitable for self-ballasted lamp loads up to 100 W
- Front label space for circuit identification
Variants
This product is offered in two colour configurations within the same IDEA switch format.
Across both versions, the electrical format stays the same at 2 poles, 10 AX and 250 V, with six terminals, directional arrows, a central OFF position, built-in mounting and IP40 protection. The visible change between variants is the front colour.
- VM16145: Color Gray. The darker face gives more contrast against lighter trim and keeps the switch easy to identify at a glance.
- VM16145.B: Color Ivory. This is the lighter finish in the range and suits installations built around light-coloured trim.
Installation and fit
This is a built-in modular insert for Vimar IDEA installations rather than a surface-mount switch. The body is 24.8 mm wide and 43.6 mm deep, and the front includes a label space that helps when circuits need clear marking at the panel or switch position.
Because it is a 2-pole device with six terminals, it suits switching points where both poles need to be handled through the same control. On a boat, that usually means protected interior locations such as cabins, passageways, saloons or enclosed helm spaces where IDEA devices are already specified.
Use on board
This switch is a good match for refits and new interior installations that use the Vimar IDEA system and need a centre-off switching layout in a clean built-in format. For open deck positions, cockpit coamings or other areas that see direct weather, a higher-IP device is the better fit.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
