Overview
The Perko 0540 is a vented angled-neck deck fill for boats using 1-1/2" fill hose and 5/8" vent hose. It combines the deck fill and tank vent in one fitting, which is useful on fuel or water installations where the deck layout has limited space for separate fill and vent hardware.
The fitting has a 35 degree angled neck, a 3-3/8" outside flange, a 2-1/8" mounting hole diameter, and a 2-7/16" neck length. The cap is chrome-plated bronze, the body is black polymer, and the cap is retained with a stainless steel bead chain. An integral tank vent with flame arrestor and anti-surge valve is built into the assembly.
Key features
- Fits 1-1/2" fill hose with a separate 5/8" vent hose connection for integrated fill and vent plumbing.
- 35 degree angled neck helps route the hose cleanly below deck where a straight drop would be difficult.
- Chrome-plated bronze cap gives the deck surface a polished silver finish while the black polymer body sits below the deck.
- Integral tank vent includes a flame arrestor and anti-surge valve.
- Stainless steel bead chain keeps the cap attached during fueling, filling, and routine checks.
- Uses #8 mounting screws and a 2-1/8" mounting hole diameter for installation planning.
- Ground wire is not required for this fill.
- Gas versions meet U.S.C.G. safety standards for gasoline fuel systems under 33 CFR 183, but do not meet 40 CFR 1060 subpart B evaporative emissions requirements.
Variants
This Perko 0540 deck fill is offered with different cap markings so the deck fitting can match the onboard tank service.
The marking is the main difference between the variants: Gas, Diesel, or Water. The angled-neck layout, 1-1/2" hose fit, 5/8" vent hose fit, chrome-plated bronze cap, black polymer body, stainless steel bead chain, and integrated vent arrangement remain consistent across these configurations.
- 0540DPGCHR: Marked for Gas. This version identifies a gasoline fill point and is used where the deck fitting serves a gasoline fuel tank.
- 0540DPDCHR: Marked for Diesel. This version identifies a diesel fill point and helps separate diesel deck hardware from gasoline or water fills on boats with multiple tanks.
- 0540DPWCHR: Marked for Water. This version identifies a freshwater fill point and keeps water service clearly separated from fuel fills at the deck.
Installation and fit
Check the hose path below the deck before cutting the mounting hole. The angled neck can make the hose run easier in tight gunwale, cockpit, or side-deck areas, but the fill hose still needs a smooth route without kinks or low spots that can trap liquid.
Use the 3-3/8" outside flange and 2-1/8" mounting hole diameter when confirming deck space. The fitting uses #8 screws, so the mounting surface should have enough backing and thickness to hold the fasteners securely under normal vibration and foot traffic around the deck.
Deck placement and venting
Because the vent is built into the fill, placement matters. Keep the fitting in a location that is protected from standing water, heavy splash, and washdown flow whenever possible. Where splash around the fill is likely, a heightening ring may be required to raise the vent opening above the deck surface.
This style of fill is a practical match for refits and replacement work where the boat already uses 1-1/2" fill hose and a 5/8" vent hose, and where a clean deck fitting with the correct service marking is needed for fuel or water identification.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
