Overview
The Attwood Marine PowerGuard 24 Battery Box is a battery box for standard 24, 24M, and 24F Series batteries, with vented and non-vented configurations available for different installation requirements.
It is built around a polypropylene case that resists battery acid and gives the battery a contained, secured location on board. The box fits batteries up to 10-1/8 in maximum height with terminals, with inside dimensions of 10-5/8 in L x 7 in W x 10-1/8 in H when the lid is installed.
This PowerGuard 24 box meets ABYC Standard E-10 and U.S. Coast Guard Specification 183.420 as an OEM-installed battery hold-down system. The included hold-down strap is rated to resist 350 lb of force, which helps keep the battery in place through normal hull movement, trailering, and vibration.
Key features
- Fits standard 24, 24M, and 24F Series batteries with a maximum height of 10-1/8 in with terminals.
- Polypropylene case resists battery acid and helps contain the battery in a dedicated box.
- Meets ABYC Standard E-10 and U.S. Coast Guard Specification 183.420 for OEM-installed battery hold-down use.
- Hold-down strap is rated for 350 lb of force to help secure the battery during movement and vibration.
- Four cable openings measure 0.55 in diameter for routing battery cables through the lid area.
- Drop tested from -20°F to +120°F for use across a wide range of storage and operating conditions.
- Outside dimensions with lid installed are 14 in L x 9-5/8 in W x 10-5/8 in H.
- Large handles with rolled edges help when positioning the box during installation or battery service.
Variants
This PowerGuard 24 Battery Box is offered in two ventilation configurations. Both variants are part of the same Group 24 battery box range and share the same general fit for 24, 24M, and 24F Series batteries.
The key difference is the lid ventilation. The vented version is used where battery gas ventilation is required, while the non-vented version is for installations that specifically call for a non-vented battery box. Battery location, compartment ventilation, and applicable boat requirements should be checked before installation.
- 9065-1: Vented. This configuration includes ventilation in the lid area, making it the more typical choice for many marine battery compartments where battery gases need a path to escape.
- 9069-1: Non-vented. This configuration uses a non-vented cover for applications where that enclosure style is required by the installation layout or system specification.
Installation and fit
The box should be mounted on a flat, supported surface where the battery can sit level and the strap can hold it firmly in place. Allow room above and around the lid for cable routing, inspection, and battery service.
Before ordering, compare the battery case size, terminal height, and cable exit direction with the inside dimensions of the box. The 40 in hold-down strap and mounting hardware are included, so the installer can secure the box and battery as part of the installation.
Use cases on board
This battery box is a practical fit for small boats, fishing boats, runabouts, pontoons, and trailerable boats using a Group 24 starting or house battery. It helps keep the battery contained and secured in storage lockers, utility spaces, and other protected mounting locations where a fixed hold-down is needed.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
