Overview
The Garmin 010-11202-03 is a SeaStar fittings kit used when plumbing a Garmin hydraulic autopilot into steering systems that use 3/8" marine tube lines.
Each adapter fitting transitions from a 1/4" NPT male pipe thread to a marine tube male connection with a 3/8" compression end. This is the common connection style used on many SeaStar hard line installations, so it helps bridge the autopilot pump ports to the existing steering tube plumbing without mixing incompatible fitting types.
Key features
- Three adapter fittings for connecting a Garmin hydraulic autopilot pump into many SeaStar steering systems
- 1/4" NPT male pipe thread on one end and marine tube male with 3/8" compression on the other
- Compression hardware included (nut and sleeve) so the tube connection can be made correctly
- Supports clean steering-circuit plumbing when the autopilot pump is mounted below decks near the steering lines
- Built around 3/8" marine tube compression plumbing rather than hose-end adapters
What's included
- 3 x 1/4" NPT male to marine tube male (3/8" compression) fittings (nut and sleeve included)
Compatibility and fit
This kit is intended for SeaStar steering setups that use 3/8" compression connections on marine tube. Before ordering, confirm your steering line style and size, and confirm the thread type on the autopilot pump ports. The pump-side connection in this kit is 1/4" NPT, which is a tapered pipe thread.
If your boat uses flexible hydraulic hoses with swivel hose ends, or a different tube size, this kit will not match those connections without additional adapters that suit that plumbing style.
Installation and setup
NPT threads seal on the taper, so use a hydraulic-safe thread sealant and keep excess sealant out of the fluid path. The compression end seals on the sleeve, so the tube needs to be cut square, de-burred, and assembled cleanly to avoid weeps.
After installation, bleed the steering and autopilot hydraulic circuit and re-check every joint after the first sea trial. A quick second check after a few hours of operation is worthwhile, since small leaks often show up once the system has seen pressure and temperature changes.
Who it fits best
This kit is a good match for boaters adding a Garmin hydraulic autopilot to a SeaStar steering system that runs 3/8" marine tube hard lines and wants the correct compression adapters on hand for the pump hookup.
