Overview
The Raymarine A80440 is a remote SD card reader with a USB-A socket for Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, Axiom Pro 2, and Axiom XL chartplotter displays. It adds 1 SD card slot and 1 USB-A port on a 2 m cable, so storage access can be moved to a more practical spot on the helm or dash.
This reader is useful when the display is flush-mounted and the rear card slot is awkward to reach once the unit is installed. It handles chart access, software updates, import and export of waypoints, routes and tracks, settings backup, and external file access. The card slot takes SD cards directly, and MicroSD can be used with an SD adapter.
The front housing measures about 55 x 53 mm and projects about 10 mm from the panel, which helps when space is tight around switches, throttles, and other electronics. The USB-A port also supports external storage such as a flash drive, and it can supply up to 0.5 A for charging small devices.
Key features
- Works with Raymarine Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro, Axiom Pro 2, and Axiom XL chartplotter displays through the display ACCESSORY connection.
- Adds 1 SD card slot and 1 USB-A port in a remote mounting position at the console or helm.
- Supports SD cards directly and MicroSD cards when used with an SD adapter.
- Useful for charts, software updates, user data transfer, settings backup, screenshots, video files, PDF viewing, and LightHouse app installation files.
- USB-A port accepts external storage such as a flash drive and can supply up to 0.5 A for charging small devices.
- Front housing measures about 55 x 53 mm with an approximately 10 mm profile, and the attached cable is 2 m long.
- Reader cover should be kept firmly closed when not in use to help reduce water ingress at the mounting location.
Compatibility and fit
This unit makes the most sense on Axiom and Axiom+ installations where the rear card reader is hard to reach after the display is mounted. On Axiom XL, a remote reader is required for card access, so this type of accessory is part of the normal installation rather than an add-on for convenience.
It suits helms where the skipper wants storage access on the face of the console instead of behind the plotter. The 2 m cable gives more freedom when routing from the display to a dash panel, switch pod, or nearby flat mounting surface.
Installation and onboard use
The reader is surface-mounted with a gasket between the unit and the panel. A clean, reachable position near the chartplotter works best, especially on enclosed helms, larger center consoles, pilothouses, and dash layouts where the display backside is blocked by structure or wiring.
In day-to-day use, it is a good match for boaters who update charts at the dock, move routes and waypoints between systems, or save screenshots and video to removable media without pulling the display out of the dash. The USB-A socket also gives a straightforward connection point for a flash drive and light charging duty for a phone or similar small device.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
