Overview
The TACO Marine F31-2230BXY-4A is a flared weld-on aluminum rod holder with a 9-3/4 inch length, 1-3/4 inch inside diameter, polished finish, white liner, and 3/8 inch coped blade for welded installation on boat tops and tower structures.
This holder is made for fabricated aluminum areas such as towers, T-tops, radar arches, railings, and leaning posts. The flared mouth makes rod placement easier when the boat is moving, while the welded I-Beam pin helps seat the rod butt so the rod stays properly indexed during fishing use.
The Brite Dip anodized aluminum finish gives the holder a clean polished look and helps protect the aluminum in a marine environment. The white PVC liner is shaped to work with the flared holder body and helps reduce contact between the rod and the metal tube.
Key features
- 9-3/4 inch overall length and 1-3/4 inch inside diameter for common offshore and inshore rod setups.
- 3/8 inch coped blade for weld-on installation to compatible fabricated aluminum structures.
- Flared opening helps guide the rod into place from the cockpit, tower, or leaning post area.
- Brite Dip anodized aluminum construction with a polished finish for a clean match on marine tower work.
- Welded I-Beam pin seats the rod butt and helps control rod rotation while trolling, drifting, or running between spots.
- White PVC liner helps protect the rod handle from direct contact with the aluminum holder.
- Suitable for welded mounting on towers, T-tops, radar arches, railings, and leaning posts.
- Made in the USA and backed by a 3-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
This is a weld-on rod holder, not a clamp-on or screw-mounted accessory. It should be installed by a qualified marine fabricator who can confirm the tube, plate, or frame location, weld compatibility, rod angle, cockpit clearance, and access around canvas, electronics, antennas, and outrigger hardware.
The 3/8 inch coped blade is intended to sit against a compatible mounting surface during fabrication. Before welding, check the rod angle, reel clearance, and how the rod will be removed under load so the finished placement works naturally from the deck or helm area.
Use cases on board
This rod holder suits sportfishing boats, center consoles, and other fishing-focused layouts that need permanent rod storage or working rod positions on aluminum tops, arches, towers, or leaning posts. It is especially practical where a clean welded installation is preferred over add-on brackets.
The polished finish and white liner make it a good match for visible tower and top locations where the hardware needs to look finished while still handling routine saltwater fishing use, washdowns, vibration, and rod movement on board.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the holder with fresh water after saltwater use, especially around the liner, pin area, and welded joint. Periodic cleaning helps preserve the polished appearance and keeps salt, grit, and bait residue from building up where the rod handle sits.
During regular boat checks, inspect the liner, welded joint, and surrounding structure for wear or movement. Replace worn liners as needed so rods continue to sit cleanly in the holder without unnecessary metal-to-rod contact.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
