Overview

The Jabsco 18690-0000 is a 115V AC macerator pump for moving waste out of a holding tank through a 1 in discharge line after the macerator has reduced solids to a maximum particle size of 1/8 in. It uses a self-priming flexible impeller pump section, has a 1-1/2 in external pipe thread inlet and a 1 in hose barb outlet, and runs on single-phase 60 Hz AC power.

This unit works well in boats that already have a 115V AC supply for sanitation equipment and need the pump mounted above or below the tank. In normal use it can empty a 30 gallon holding tank in about 3 minutes, and the motor includes thermal overload protection.

Key features
  • 115V AC induction motor, single phase, 60 Hz, with thermal overload protection
  • Self-priming pump with up to 6 ft of lift, which gives more freedom in where the unit can be mounted
  • Macerator reduces waste to a maximum particle size of 1/8 in for discharge through a 1 in hose line
  • 1-1/2 in external pipe thread inlet and 1 in hose barb outlet for marine sanitation plumbing
  • Nitrile impeller, lip-type seal, stainless steel wearplates, and cast bronze cutter plate
  • Approximate full-load draw of 7.2 A and flow rates up to 14 GPM in low-head conditions
Installation and setup

Mount the pump upright and keep it as close to the waste source as the layout allows. The self-priming lift helps when the pump cannot sit directly beside the tank, but a shorter suction run still helps the unit start easier and move waste more consistently.

Before installation, check that your plumbing matches the pump connections and that the boat has a 115V, 60 Hz circuit with enough capacity for the load. On the suction side, airtight hose runs and gentle bends matter, especially when the pump is mounted above tank level.

Compatibility and fit

This pump is a good match for marine sanitation systems that handle normal waste and toilet tissue. It is not built for hard solid objects, rags, or sanitary products, so it belongs in installations where the holding tank line is used only for standard marine head waste.

For boats with shore power or another onboard 115V AC source feeding sanitation equipment, this model fits applications where an AC macerator is preferred over a 12V or 24V pump. It also suits layouts where the pump has to sit above the tank rather than directly at the outlet.

Maintenance and care

After pumpout, flushing the tank and pump with several gallons of water helps reduce sediment left in the system. Avoid running the pump dry for more than 30 seconds, and keep the suction side sealed properly so the pump can prime and move waste without strain.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
