Overview
The Attwood Marine Fuel Tank & Hose Fittings is a Johnson/Evinrude/OMC fuel connection range for portable outboard fuel systems. The group covers the tank-side 1/4 in NPT male fitting and matching female hose-end fittings for 5/16 in or 3/8 in I.D. fuel hose, so the connection can be matched to the tank outlet, fuel line size, and outboard setup.
These fittings are used to connect a portable fuel tank to an outboard fuel hose and, with the female hose fittings, to connect the hose at either the tank or engine end where the Johnson/Evinrude/OMC style connection is used. The tank fitting is brass, while the hose-end fittings are acetal, giving the range options for the threaded tank connection and the quick-connect hose side of the fuel line.
Key features
- Made for Johnson, Evinrude, and OMC outboard fuel systems using the matching portable-tank and hose fitting style.
- Includes a 1/4 in NPT male tank fitting option for threaded tank installations.
- Female hose fitting options cover 5/16 in and 3/8 in barb sizes for matching common outboard fuel hose I.D.
- Quick-connect hose fittings can be used at the tank or engine end where the matching Johnson/Evinrude/OMC connection is required.
- Fuel fitting range is suitable for leaded, unleaded, ethanol-blended, and alcohol-blended fuels.
- Brass tank fitting and acetal hose fitting options help match the material to the specific connection point.
Variants
This product is offered in three configurations for Johnson/Evinrude/OMC fuel line connections.
The variants differ by connection type, connection size, and material. The range includes one tank-side male fitting and two female hose-end fittings for different hose I.D. sizes.
- 8883-6: Tank male fitting with 1/4 in NPT thread, made from brass. This is the threaded tank-side fitting for portable fuel tanks that use the Johnson/Evinrude/OMC connection style.
- 88FHE516-6: Female hose fitting with 5/16 in barb, made from acetal. This option matches 5/16 in I.D. fuel hose and can serve as the hose-end connection at the tank or engine end.
- 8889LP6: Female hose fitting with 3/8 in barb, made from acetal. This option matches 3/8 in I.D. fuel hose and works with the corresponding tank fitting or similar compatible fittings.
Installation and fit
Confirm the outboard connection style before ordering, especially on older fuel systems or boats that have had tanks, hoses, or engines changed over time. The hose barb size should match the inside diameter of the fuel hose, not the outside diameter.
Threaded fuel fittings should be installed with fuel-compatible thread sealant on the threads. Hose clamps are not included, so the fuel hose installation should use clamps that match the hose size and the service environment.
Use cases on board
This range is a practical fit for small boats, tenders, fishing skiffs, and portable-tank outboard setups using Johnson, Evinrude, or OMC fuel connections. It is also useful when replacing only one worn or mismatched fitting rather than replacing the full fuel line assembly.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
