Overview
The Garmin 010-02596-50 is a 7-inch chartplotter and sonar combo that comes preloaded with Garmin Navionics+ inland mapping for Canada and includes a GT20-TM transducer. The display is WVGA (800 x 480) and runs on 9 to 18 Vdc, so it fits typical 12V boat electrical systems.
On the sonar side, it supports Garmin traditional sonar and ClearVü scanning sonar through the included transducer, giving a clean view of structure and fish targets under the boat. The unit is rated IPX7 for incidental water exposure, which matters when it lives at the helm or gets hit during washdowns.
Built-in Wi-Fi lets you share user data and compatible sonar sources with other supported Garmin units and connect with the ActiveCaptain app for phone-based sync and updates. A microSD card slot is available for additional mapping and storage.

- IPX7 water rating for incidental exposure on deck or at the console
- Preloaded Garmin Navionics+ inland mapping for Canada
- Includes GT20-TM transducer for Garmin traditional sonar and ClearVü scanning sonar
- Built-in Wi-Fi for wireless sharing and smartphone app connectivity
- MicroSD card slot supports up to 1 TB cards (formatted to exFAT)
Installation and setup
The display unit is 232 x 143.1 x 67 mm (W x H x D). Plan for about 62.5 mm of clearance behind the unit for connectors and cable bend radius, especially if you are flush-mounting in a tight console. The package includes both a tilt mount and flush-mount option, so you can match it to a dash, electronics box, or bracket at the helm.
For best sonar performance, mount the GT20-TM transducer where it stays in clean water flow and away from strakes, steps, and aerated turbulence. Route the transducer and power/data cabling away from ignition wiring, VHF coax, and other noise sources to keep sonar and GPS performance consistent.
Connectivity and on-board use
Wireless sharing is useful on boats that run more than one display, such as a console plus a secondary station, or when you want to mirror waypoints and routes between compatible Garmin units. The Wi-Fi connection also supports app pairing for managing downloads, syncing user data, and handling software updates without pulling the unit off the boat.
This setup makes the most sense for inland and freshwater anglers who want a dedicated chart and fishfinding screen on a small to mid-size boat, plus straightforward mounting options that work on aluminum fishing rigs, fiberglass runabouts, and center consoles.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
