Overview

The Garmin 010-01870-00 is a 4.3-inch GPS fishfinder packaged with a dual-beam transom-mount transducer for traditional sonar. It runs on 12 to 20 Vdc, uses a 3 A fast-acting fuse, and carries an IPX7 water rating for rain, spray, and quick washdowns.

On the water, it gives you CHIRP traditional sonar for separating fish from structure, plus built-in GPS for waypoint marking, simple routes, and a speed readout when you are trolling. Quickdraw Contours lets you build your own contour maps as you drive, saving maps with 1 ft contours for up to 2 million acres.

This is a good fit for smaller boats that need a straightforward sonar and GPS setup at the helm, or as a compact second screen where space is tight.

Installation and setup

Mount the display where you can reach the keys and see the screen while standing or seated, then use the tilt and swivel bracket to fine-tune the viewing angle. Leave enough clearance behind the unit for the cable bend radius and for removing the connectors later for service.

For the transducer, plan the transom run so the face sits in clean water at speed. Keep the cable away from ignition wiring and high-current bundles when possible, and secure it so it cannot chafe on the transom, splashwell, or trailer hardware.

Electrical and system integration

Connect to a clean 12 V supply with the in-line fuse in place, and tie grounds back to the same negative buss used by your electronics. If the unit ever powers on and off unexpectedly, voltage drop at the connector is usually the first thing to check.

User data such as waypoints can be shared with compatible Garmin units using the data wires on the power cable or a user data sharing cable when the devices are installed too far apart for a direct connection.

Use on board

For inshore and freshwater fishing, the GPS makes it easy to return to rock piles, channel edges, docks, and ramps, while Quickdraw Contours builds a bottom picture of the areas you actually run. It also works well on skiffs and aluminum boats where a compact head unit keeps the console uncluttered.

Maintenance and care

After saltwater use, rinse the unit and transducer with fresh water and avoid aiming high-pressure spray directly at connectors. Periodically inspect the transducer face for growth or nicks and check the cable routing points for wear, especially where the cable passes through the transom area.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
