Overview
The Vimar Idea 16954 thermostat is a 2-module display thermostat for ambient temperature ON/OFF control on the By-me Plus system. It connects on a 29 V BUS TP line, draws 20 mA, and shows temperatures from -5 °C to +40 °C.
It can work under the control unit as part of a wider automation setup or manage a zone independently as a thermostat. For yacht interiors and refits that already use Vimar Idea devices, it fits best in enclosed living spaces such as cabins, saloons, and other protected control points where climate control is handled through the vessel's interior electrical system.
Heating setpoint adjustment runs from +5 °C to +30 °C, cooling setpoint adjustment runs from +10 °C to +35 °C, and the thermal differential is adjustable from 0.1 °C to 1.0 °C with a 0.2 °C preset. That gives installers and owners a straightforward wall control for heating and air-conditioning zones without moving outside the By-me architecture.

Variants
This thermostat is offered in two finish options within the Idea range.
The listed variants differ by color. Both versions follow the same 2-module display thermostat format for By-me ambient temperature control.
- VM16954.B, Color Ivory. A lighter finish that suits cabins and interior panels using ivory or off-white Idea trim.
- VM16954, Color Gray. A darker finish that blends with gray Idea modules and control points where a lower-contrast look is preferred.
Compatibility and fit
This unit is meant for Vimar By-me Plus installations and for the Idea series in a 2-module opening. It is used for ambient temperature control of heating and air-conditioning circuits, with system setup handled through the control unit.
A single By-me line can accommodate up to three thermostats managed by the control unit, with additional units used independently within the overall device limit of the system. It is a sensible match for vessels already built around Vimar interior switching and automation rather than for stand-alone 12 V or 24 V marine thermostat circuits.
Installation and setup
The thermostat is configured through the control unit and installed in a group that also includes the relay used to control the climate circuit, such as pumps, burners, or electrovalves. The front buttons let the user change operating mode, adjust temperature, and set timed functions directly from the wall unit.
This suits owners and installers who want cabin-by-cabin climate control inside an existing By-me system, especially on larger yachts or refit projects where interior switching, automation, and HVAC control are being kept in one coordinated platform.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
