Overview
The Vimar Idea 16036 is a 2-pole 1-way rocker/button switch for flush-mounted IDEA installations where a compact 16 A, 250 V control point is needed in a protected interior panel. It supports optional lighting for control and orientation, is intended for use with a signalling unit, and is supplied without that unit. The device is rated IP40, and the lighting function is suitable for self-ballasted lamps up to 200 W.
On board, this type of switch fits best in enclosed spaces such as cabins, nav stations, utility panels, and other interior areas that stay out of direct spray. The 2-pole switching layout is useful where the circuit design calls for switching both poles together, while the screw terminals and modular snap-in format keep installation consistent with IDEA hardware.
Key features
- 2-pole 1-way rocker/button switch rated 16 AX at 250 V
- Supports optional control and orientation lighting with an exchangeable LED; signalling unit not included
- IP40-rated construction for protected interior locations
- Flush-mounted 1-module IDEA device with snap fastening
- Screw terminal connection for fixed wiring
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with matt finish and label space on the rocker
Variants
This product is offered in two color configurations within the same switch format.
The listed difference between variants is color. The switching format remains a 2-pole 1-way luminous switch for a signalling unit, with flush mounting and screw-terminal connection.
- VM16036.B: Color Ivory. This version suits lighter interior trims and panel surrounds where a pale switch face is preferred.
- VM16036: Color Gray. This version gives a darker finish that blends more easily with grey surrounds and technical panel layouts.
Compatibility and use on board
This switch belongs to the Vimar IDEA modular range, so it should be matched with compatible IDEA supports, frames, and cover plates. It is better suited to dry or sheltered interior zones than to open decks, cockpit surfaces, or other washdown areas.
It is a good match for refits and new interior panels that already use IDEA modules and need a 2-pole wall switch with optional orientation lighting.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
