Overview
The Vimar Idea 16126 push button is a 1P NO momentary switch for the Vimar Idea modular range, rated 10 A at 250 V~ with an illuminated diffuser window for a signalling unit. It is a flush-mounted thermoplastic device with an IP40 rating and a compact body measuring 24.8 x 50.1 x 38 mm.
On a boat, this fits best in protected interior switch panels where matching an existing Vimar Idea installation matters as much as the switching function itself. It is supplied without the signalling unit, so the diffuser window is present but the indicator component must be added separately when a lit button or status indication is required.
Key features
- 1P NO momentary push button rated 10 A at 250 V~
- Illuminated format with diffuser window for a signalling unit
- Supplied without the signalling unit
- Flush-mounted snap-in installation for Vimar Idea modular systems
- Thermoplastic construction with halogen-free material and a matte finish
- IP40 protection for protected interior locations
- Compact 24.8 x 50.1 x 38 mm size for panels with limited space behind the faceplate
Variants
This product family is offered in three color and diffuser combinations within the same Idea 16126 push button format.
Across the listed variants, the switching function, 10 A 250 V~ rating, IP40 protection, flush snap-in mounting, and overall dimensions remain the same. The visible differences are the body color and the diffuser color.
- VM16126.B: Gray body with white diffuser. This keeps the darker Idea look and uses a standard white indicator window.
- VM16126.B.B: Ivory body with white diffuser. This version suits lighter panel layouts while keeping the same white indicator window.
- VM16126.V: Gray body with green diffuser. The green window gives a different visual cue when the signalling position is used.
Compatibility and fit
This is part of the Vimar Idea series, so it is meant to be installed with compatible Idea supports, frames, and cover plates rather than used as a standalone surface switch. It works well when replacing an existing Idea push button or when building out a panel around the same modular system.
The IP40 rating makes it a better fit for cabins, enclosed helm stations, interior bulkheads, and service spaces that stay protected from spray and washdowns. For open decks or exposed exterior positions, a switch with a higher protection rating is usually the better match.
Installation and setup
Electrically, this is a normally open momentary control, so the contact closes only while the button is pressed. That suits circuits that expect a pulse input rather than a maintained on or off position.
Check the circuit type before ordering. The published rating is 10 A at 250 V~, so it should be matched to the switching duty and enclosure used on the vessel, especially where low-voltage DC controls and AC distribution are both present on board.
Use on board
This is a good fit for refits and new installations on boats already using Vimar Idea switching in the cabin, galley, utility spaces, or enclosed control areas. It also suits installations where the button color and diffuser color need to stay consistent with the rest of the panel while keeping the same switch body and rating across positions.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
