Overview
The Perko 1252DP0CHR is a 6-1/2 inch open base boat cleat made for securing dock lines, fender lines, and light tie-off points on small boats, tenders, runabouts, and other deck areas where a low-profile horn cleat is needed.
This cleat has a chrome-plated zinc alloy body, a 3 inch by 1-1/8 inch base, and accepts line up to 3/4 inch. The two-hole open base layout gives the line a clear path around the horns and keeps the mounting footprint simple for deck, gunwale, cockpit, or dockside hardware replacement work.
Key features
- 6-1/2 inch overall length gives useful line wrap space for everyday docking and fender handling.
- Chrome-plated zinc alloy construction suits visible deck hardware where a bright finish is preferred.
- 3 inch by 1-1/8 inch base helps confirm fit when replacing an existing cleat or planning a new mounting location.
- Open base shape keeps the cleat easy to clean around and allows straightforward line handling from either side.
- Made for 1/4 inch fasteners, which should be matched with proper backing and sealing for the mounting surface.
- Handles rope up to 3/4 inch, useful for small-craft dock lines, fender lines, and general tie-off points.
Installation and fit
Before drilling, check the base footprint against the available deck space and confirm there is room underneath for washers, backing plates, or other reinforcement. A cleat can see high shock loads when a boat surges at the dock, so the mounting surface matters as much as the cleat itself.
Use marine sealant around the fastener holes to help keep water out of the deck core, especially on fiberglass or cored panels. For saltwater use, rinse the chrome finish with fresh water and inspect it regularly, since plated zinc hardware needs more finish care than stainless steel or bronze in harsh environments.
Use on board
This cleat is a practical match for boats that need a compact tie-off point for docking, fenders, tender lines, or light deck utility use. Its polished finish also makes it suitable for areas where the hardware remains visible, such as cockpit coamings, side decks, transoms, and small swim platforms.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
