This is an AC mains outlet, not a 12 V or 24 V DC socket. On board, it makes sense where the vessel uses a Swiss-standard shore power or inverter-fed AC circuit and the surrounding Idea switches and trim need to stay consistent.

This outlet is offered in two color finishes within the same Swiss Type 13, 10 A, 250 V AC format.
The listed variants differ by front color. The one-module layout, flush mounting, screw-terminal connection, IP20 protection and body dimensions stay the same across the two options.
- VM16226.B: Color Ivory. This lighter finish works well where the surrounding plates or interior trim lean toward off-white tones.
- VM16226: Color Gray. This darker finish suits gray control panels and interiors that use a more technical look.
Installation and fit
Because this unit is part of the Idea device family, it is meant to be installed with the matching Idea mounting support and finish components. Check that the vessel already uses Swiss Type 13 outlets and that the surrounding modular hardware matches the Idea pattern before ordering a replacement.
As an IP20 outlet, it belongs in enclosed, dry areas such as cabins, galleys, crew spaces or protected helm interiors. It is not the right choice for cockpit coamings, exterior bulkheads or other places that see spray, rain or routine washdowns.
Use on board
This is a good fit for boats that distribute 250 V AC service through Swiss-standard receptacles and want a clean flush-mounted finish inside the accommodation spaces. It also makes sense in refits where a worn outlet needs to be replaced without changing the surrounding Vimar Idea styling.
