Overview
The Vimar Idea is a 2P+E 16 A 250 V SICURY Bpresa socket outlet for the Italian P17/11 standard, built as a 3-module flush-mounted device with an interlocked 1P+N C16 residual current breaker with overcurrent protection. It runs on 230 V~ 50 Hz, carries a 10 mA rated fault current threshold, and has 3000 A breaking capacity.
On board, this type of outlet makes sense in a protected interior AC circuit where you need an Italian standard receptacle and local protection at the point of use, such as a cabin, galley, or service area on a 230 V / 50 Hz system. Its IP20 rating means it belongs in a dry interior location and not in spaces exposed to spray, washdowns, or open-weather deck conditions.
Key features
- Italian standard P17/11 SICURY Bpresa socket outlet rated at 2P+E 16 A, 250 V
- Interlocked 1P+N C16 residual current breaker with overcurrent protection, 10 mA rated fault current, and 3000 A breaking capacity
- 3-module flush-mounted format for the Vimar Idea range
- Screwed terminals, enhanced contact protection, and integrated on/off switching
- IP20 thermoplastic body with matt finish, label space, and function lighting
Variants
This product is offered in two color configurations.
The listed variants change by color. Across both versions, the electrical format stays the same: 2P+E 16 A 250 V, Italian standard P17/11, 230 V~ 50 Hz supply, 10 mA fault current protection, 3000 A breaking capacity, IP20 protection, and a 3-module flush-mounted body with screwed terminals.
- VM16283.B, Color Ivory. This lighter finish suits interior spaces where the outlet should blend into pale trim, liners, or cabin furniture.
- VM16283, Color Gray. This darker finish gives a more technical look that sits well in utility areas, helm-side panels, or refit work where surrounding hardware is darker.
Installation and fit
The body measures 74.8 mm wide, 50.1 mm high, and about 57.3 to 57.4 mm deep depending on variant. Flush mounting and snap engagement suit fixed interior panels in the Vimar Idea system, and the screwed terminals fit hard-wired AC connections where a clean, built-in finish is needed.
The housing is plastic with a thermoplastic body and a matt surface. Before fitting it into a boat panel, it is worth checking rear clearance and wiring space, especially when replacing a simpler outlet with no integrated protective device.
Electrical and system integration
This outlet should be used on 230 V AC, 50 Hz circuits only. The Italian P17/11 format matters when matching existing onboard outlets, shore-powered accommodation circuits, or inverter-fed circuits that are already set up around this plug pattern.
Because the unit combines the socket outlet with fault current and overcurrent protection, it works well where the point of use needs its own protected connection. The label area and function lighting also help when the installation includes multiple AC services in one interior panel.
Use on board
This is a sensible match for boats with European style AC installations that already use Italian domestic fittings or need to keep the same outlet standard during a refit. It is a better fit for cabins, galleys, and enclosed service spaces than for cockpits, exterior bulkheads, or wet lockers where a sealed outlet would be the right choice.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
