Variants
This socket outlet is offered in two color configurations to match different Idea plates and surrounding trim.
The visible color changes between variants; the outlet type, electrical rating, and 2-module reduced format remain the same.
- VM17038: Color Gray. Suits darker frames and plates for a low-contrast finish on bulkheads and panels.
- VM17038.B: Color Ivory. Blends with lighter frames and plates for a cleaner look in cabins and saloons.

This outlet is intended for German-standard (SCHUKO) plugs and AC circuits up to 250 V and 16 A. Confirm your vessel’s shore-power standard, onboard socket standard, and the Vimar Idea mounting hardware already in place so the module count and faceplate layout match your panel or bulkhead cutout.
Installation and setup
Install it in a compatible Idea flush box and frame, then terminate conductors at the screw terminals with correct stripping length and a firm clamp. Keep the earth connection continuous through the AC system, secure wiring to prevent vibration fatigue, and place the outlet where it will not be exposed to washdowns or dripping lockers.
Use cases on board
This is a good fit for boats already using Vimar Idea devices where you need a German-standard outlet for chargers and small AC loads in interior spaces. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund.
