The Vimar Idea 17042 is a French standard 2P+E socket outlet rated 16 A at 250 V AC, sized for a 2 reduced module opening in the Vimar Idea modular system.
It is an IP20 device for protected indoor spaces, so it belongs in dry areas on board such as the cabin, galley, nav station, or inside a sheltered panel, not in the cockpit or any location that sees spray or washdowns.

Installation and setup
This is an AC outlet for the boat’s shore power or inverter-fed distribution. Make sure the circuit is protected correctly for the load and that power is isolated before any wiring work.
Mount it in a compatible flush box and terminate the conductors on the screw terminals. Leave enough slack so the wiring is not pulling on the terminals when panels flex or the hull is working in a seaway.

This is a 2 reduced module device for the Vimar Idea modular range. Confirm your existing mounting frame and cover plate accept 2 reduced modules and that your boat is set up for French 2P+E outlets.
