Overview
The Vimar Idea 16251 is a 2P+E Chinese standard SICURY socket outlet rated 10 A at 250 V AC (50 to 60 Hz) for use in Vimar Idea modular installations. It is an IP20 device intended for protected interior areas where it will not be exposed to spray, washdowns, or heavy condensation.
On board, this style of outlet is typically used on the vessel AC system when you need the Chinese plug pattern at a cabin desk, nav station, or similar dry location. The module uses screw terminals and includes contact protection, which helps reduce the chance of accidental contact with live parts during everyday use.
It is a 1-module device with a compact body (24.80 mm wide, 50.10 mm high, 37.50 mm deep) and a matte, halogen-free thermoplastic front. A small label area is provided for circuit identification.
Key features
- Chinese standard 2P+E socket format for 250 V AC circuits, rated 10 A (50 to 60 Hz).
- SICURY contact protection to help limit accidental finger contact with live parts.
- IP20 protection level for dry, sheltered interior mounting locations.
- Screw terminal connection type for secure wiring in a vibrating marine environment.
- 1-module Idea device size with a compact body: 24.80 mm (W) x 50.10 mm (H) x 37.50 mm (D).
- Matte, halogen-free thermoplastic front with a label space for clear circuit marking.
Variants
This outlet is offered in multiple configurations.
The variants differ by face color. The electrical format, 10 A 250 V AC rating, and device size remain the same.
- VM16251.B, Color: Ivory. A light face color that blends well with bright interiors and lighter trim.
- VM16251, Color: Gray. A neutral darker tone that suits darker panels and areas that see frequent handling.
Compatibility and fit
This is an AC socket outlet, not a 12 V or 24 V DC accessory. Confirm your onboard AC system voltage and frequency match the device rating, and confirm the plug style you need is the Chinese standard 2P+E pattern.
As a 1-module device, it is intended to be installed within the Vimar Idea modular system using the appropriate support and cover plate for your layout. Verify the available mounting depth against the device depth of 37.50 mm, especially where wiring bundles or conduits are tight behind the panel.
Installation and wiring
Install in a dry, sheltered area and keep it clear of sinks, shower areas, cockpit spray, and washdown zones. If the location may see moisture, use a suitable protected enclosure or choose a higher-IP outlet style for that zone.
Disconnect shore power, inverters, and generators before wiring. Land conductors fully under the screw terminals, tighten to a firm connection, and provide strain relief so movement in the cable does not pull on the terminals over time.
Use cases on board
This outlet is a good match for boats that carry Chinese-standard appliances or chargers and want a clean, modular finish in interior spaces. It is commonly placed at a nav station, cabin workspace, or saloon charging point where a dedicated 10 A AC outlet is appropriate.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
