Overview
The Vimar Enclosures 09975 is a 3-module surface mounting box with a 43.5 mm nominal depth for installing Eikon, Idea, and Plana devices where you cannot recess a box into the panel or bulkhead.
The housing measures 84.0 mm long by 121.5 mm wide with a 45.0 mm overall depth, and the cover is secured with screws. With an IP20 protection rating, it is intended for dry interior locations rather than areas exposed to spray, washdowns, or weather.
For cable routing, it has four conduit inlets sized for 20 mm or 25 mm plus a rear entry, which helps when you want wiring to come in from behind a liner or a mounting panel. It can be installed on insulating, non-perforated surfaces or on metallic surfaces when an earth connection is provided.

This surface mounting box is offered in multiple colors so it can match the surrounding frames and cover plates.
The module capacity, dimensions, and entry layout stay the same across the range. The difference between variants is the exterior color.
- VM09975.01 - Color: White. A straightforward match for white liners and bright interior panels.
- VM09975.SL - Color: Silver. A neutral finish that pairs well with silver-toned trim and modern interior panels.
- VM09975.A - Color: Ivory. RAL 9001 tone that suits warmer interiors and classic refit aesthetics.
Compatibility and fit
This is a 3-module surface box, so it is meant for 3-module mounting frames and cover plates in the supported ranges. For Idea series installations, it is intended for Classica cover plates.
It is not connectable, so multi-gang layouts should be planned with separate boxes and spacing that keeps frames and cover plates aligned.
Installation and setup
The box mounts to a wall or ceiling surface. When installed on a metal bulkhead or metal panel, make sure the mounting surface has the required earth connection.
Plan conduit direction before fastening the box so the 20 mm or 25 mm entries line up with your wire runs, and leave enough room for cable bend radius inside the enclosure before fitting the devices and cover plate.
Use on board
This box is a good fit for interior switch and outlet runs on boats using Vimar modular hardware, especially in cabins, nav stations, enclosed helms, and other protected spaces where surface-mount wiring is preferred over cutting into finished panels.
If the installation area is exposed to spray or frequent cleaning, an IP-rated enclosure is a better match than an IP20 box.
