Overview
The Vimar VM16715 is a 5-module mounting frame with fixing screws for Vimar Idea rectangular flush-mounting boxes, finished in grey. It is the internal support that holds the modular devices in place behind the cover plate, keeping switches, outlets, and other Idea modules aligned and secure.
This frame carries up to 5 modules across and can be installed either horizontally or vertically. Overall size is approximately 60 x 147 mm, so it is sized for standard 5-module layouts where you want a clean, consistent lineup in a cabin, head, or nav station panel.
It is not intended for 60 mm round junction boxes, floor boxes, or in-wall trunking style systems. For best results on a boat, plan it for protected interior locations where it sits behind a cover plate and is not exposed to spray or washdowns.

Compatibility and fit
This frame is for Vimar Idea 5-module rectangular flush-mounting boxes and matching Idea cover plates. If your boat is fitted with a different Vimar series or a different module format, confirm the system family and module count before ordering.
It will not fit 60 mm round junction boxes, and it is not meant for floor box installs or trunking style systems. When replacing an existing frame, count the modules across the opening and verify the box format is rectangular and sized for 5 modules.
Installation and setup
Position the frame on the flush box and secure it using the supplied screws. The modular inserts mount from the rear side of the frame, then the cover plate finishes the front. Because the frame can be installed horizontally or vertically, you can match the layout to your switch panel orientation without changing the module count.
On boats, take a moment to check for cable bend radius and box depth behind the panel or liner so the modules seat fully and the cover plate sits flat.
Use cases on board
This part makes sense for refits and new installs where you are building a tidy, modular switch and outlet row in interior spaces. It is a good match for owners standardizing on Vimar Idea modules across multiple cabins or consoles and wanting consistent spacing and alignment behind the plates.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
