Overview

The Vimar VM17087 is a 2-reduced-module mounting frame used to secure Vimar IDEA modular switching devices in boxes with 60 mm fixing centers, 56 x 56 mm flush boxes, or the 09971 surface mounting box.

It sits behind the cover plate and holds the inserts in position, which helps keep a clean finish when you are adding a switch at the helm, refreshing cabin outlets, or standardizing panels during a refit.

The grey thermoplastic frame can be installed horizontally or vertically depending on how the box is oriented, and the module inserts mount from the rear of the frame.

Compatibility and fit

This frame is intended for setups using Vimar IDEA reduced modules and a matching cover plate. Confirm your mounting box pattern before ordering, since 60 mm fixing-center boxes and 56 x 56 mm boxes use different layouts even when the finished plate size looks similar.

It is a good match for boats already wired with Vimar IDEA devices, where you want consistent spacing and alignment across cabins, galleys, and helm side panels.

Installation and setup

Test-fit the frame in the box to confirm the fixing centers line up and the inserts sit square. Because the modules mount from the rear, leave enough wiring slack so the assembly can be pulled forward later for inspection or replacement.

Finish with the appropriate cover plate after the inserts are secured and aligned.

Maintenance and care

Clean with mild soap and water and avoid solvent-based cleaners that can dull or haze thermoplastic parts.
