Overview

The Vimar VM16718 is a 12 (6+6)-module mounting frame with screws for V71320, V71620 and V71720 flush boxes or the 09920 surface mounting box.

It supports a two-row layout (6 modules per row) for Vimar modular wiring devices, with the module inserts mounted from the back side of the frame. The frame can be installed horizontally or vertically, which helps when space and switch-panel layout on a boat do not match a single standard orientation.

Made from grey thermoplastic, it is a non-metal frame that avoids corrosion issues around salt air. Pair it with the correct mounting box and cover plate so the finished assembly stays tight and aligned when the boat is vibrating underway.

Key features
  • 12-module format in a 6+6 layout (6 modules wide, 2 rows tall)
  • Fits V71320, V71620 and V71720 flush mounting boxes, and the 09920 surface mounting box
  • Supplied with mounting screws
  • Module inserts mount from the back side of the frame for clean alignment behind the cover plate
  • Can be mounted in horizontal or vertical orientation
  • Thermoplastic construction in grey
  • No built-in installation box, intended to be used with the compatible box listed above
Compatibility and fit

This frame uses the Vimar module system, so the inserts and cover plate need to match the same system and layout. The 12-module count refers to the 6-by-2 arrangement of modules on the frame.

It is not suitable for 60 mm round junction boxes and it is not intended for DIN-rail mounting. Since the frame does not include an installation box, plan the install around the correct flush or surface box so there is enough room for wiring and strain relief behind the panel.

Installation and setup

Fasten the frame to the compatible mounting box using the supplied screws, then fit the module inserts from the rear and square everything up before the cover plate goes on. Once tightened, the frame holds the insert grid in place so the front faces sit straight and do not shift with use.

On boats, this style of mounting is most at home in protected interior locations such as cabins, helm consoles, nav stations, and technical panels. Keep the wiring area behind the box dry and serviceable, and leave clearance for cable bends and future access.

Use cases on board

This is a practical match for refits or new builds that already use Vimar modular devices and need a two-row 12-module opening in a bulkhead or panel. It also works well when you are standardizing multi-gang switch and outlet groups so the panel layout stays consistent across cabins and service areas.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
