Overview
The Vimar Net Safe 16337 is an RJ45 phone jack module with an 8-position, 8-conductor (8/8) connection and rear screw terminals.
It is an unshielded (not screened) jack intended for low-voltage data and telecommunication runs where you want an outlet that sits flush in a Vimar IDEA modular plate, such as at a nav station, desk, or cabin bulkhead.
The rear terminals suit round cable and terminate under screws, so you can land conductors without a punch-down tool. It is not suitable for flat cable, litz wire conductors, or solid-core conductors.

Variants
This module is offered in two colour options to match different Vimar plate and trim finishes.
The visible face colour is what changes across the range.
- VM16337.B: Color White. Keeps the outlet visually consistent with white Vimar frames and cover plates.
- VM16337: Color Gray. Matches gray-toned plates and adjacent devices for a uniform panel finish.
Installation and setup
Mount the module into a compatible Vimar IDEA support and cover plate, then route the cable into the back box with enough slack to work comfortably on the terminals. Strip the conductors cleanly, land each conductor under the correct screw terminal, and keep the jacket supported so movement in the wall does not pull on the terminations.
On board, keep low-voltage comms cabling separated from high-current DC runs where practical, especially near battery banks, inverters, and engine harnesses. For best longevity, place the outlet in a dry interior area where the plug and cord will not be exposed to spray or washdowns.
Compatibility and fit
This is a modular connector for Vimar IDEA system installations and is commonly used as a phone or general RJ45 outlet point within structured wiring. It is a good match for refits where the vessel already uses Vimar IDEA plates and you need an RJ45 point for a handset line or an onboard network connection. Confirm the plate system and module format on your boat before ordering so it seats correctly in the existing frame.

Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund.
