Overview

The TACO Marine F16-0204-1 is an outrigger line tensioner for keeping gunwale-rigged halyard lines tight and properly extended on larger fishing boats. It is built around a stainless steel mushroom-style tensioning point with a Ronstan medium cam cleat, giving double or triple outrigger line setups a clean way to hold line tension without relying on raised camel-back cleats.

This tensioner fits boats with 1" to 2-1/2" thick gunnels and installs through the gunnel with a 3/4" drill bit. The cam cleat works with 1/8" to 1/2" rope, making it useful for common outrigger halyard setups on center consoles and sport fishing boats where lines need to stay organized, tight, and easy to adjust during a fishing day.

Key features
  • Helps maintain tension on outrigger halyard lines so pulley blocks stay locked in place and the lines remain fully extended.
  • Suited for larger boats running double or triple lines on each outrigger.
  • Stainless Steel Type 316 construction supports use in saltwater environments where corrosion resistance matters.
  • Adjustable fit for 1" to 2-1/2" thick gunnels.
  • Installs through the gunnel using a 3/4" drill bit.
  • Ronstan medium cam cleat accepts 1/8" to 1/2" rope for practical line handling.
  • Heavy-duty lock washer helps reduce loosening from vibration while underway.
  • Electro-polished bracket with countersunk mounting holes gives the installation a clean finished look.
Installation and fit

The unit is intended for through-gunnel installation, so the mounting area should be checked for thickness, access, and backing before drilling. Its adjustable design covers gunnels from 1" to 2-1/2" thick, which makes it a practical match for many larger center consoles and sport fishing boats with gunwale-mounted outrigger halyards.

The stainless mushroom head and cam cleat layout keep the working line close at hand while reducing the raised hardware profile compared with traditional camel-back cleats. That matters in areas where crew move around the cockpit and gunwale during trolling, clearing lines, or fighting fish.

Use on board

This tensioner is a good match for anglers who want cleaner outrigger rigging and more controlled halyard tension on boats that fish offshore or run multiple outrigger lines. It is especially useful where line tension needs to be adjusted quickly but the deck and gunwale still need to stay uncluttered.
