Overview
The Vimar Idea 16350.S is a flush-mounted BNC coaxial socket insert that brings a bayonet-style BNC jack to a Vimar Idea module position for onboard coax connections.
It is a solder-termination socket for RG58, RG59/62, and RX93 coax cables and is rated IP20. The module occupies a single Idea position and measures 24.80 mm wide, 50.10 mm high, and 30.50 mm deep.
The body is thermoplastic with a matt finish and is halogen free. On a boat, it belongs in protected interior panels rather than exposed cockpits or anywhere that gets washdowns.
Key features
- Bayonet-style BNC jack socket with solder termination for RG58, RG59/62, and RX93 coax
- 1-module insert format for Vimar Idea flush-mounted supports and cover plates
- IP20 rating for sheltered interior installations
- Thermoplastic, halogen-free construction with a matt surface
- Fit check behind panels: 24.80 mm width, 50.10 mm height, 30.50 mm depth
- No dust cover or strain relief built in, so the coax should be secured nearby to handle vibration and cable pull
Variants
Offered in two colour finishes to match existing Vimar Idea installations.
The mounting format and cable termination stay the same across the range: a 1-module, flush-mounted BNC socket with solder termination for RG58, RG59/62, and RX93 coax, rated IP20.
- VM16350.S.B - Color Ivory (RAL 9001 similar). A lighter face that matches off-white plates and bright cabin interiors.
- VM16350.S - Color Gray (RAL 7015 similar). A darker tone that blends with grey panels at the helm and nav station.
Installation and setup
This is a solder-termination connector. Strip and tin the coax conductors to the required lengths, solder the centre conductor and the shield, then secure the cable so any pull or vibration is taken by clamps or ties rather than the connector body.
Once wired, snap the module into the Vimar Idea support and fit the matching cover plate. Allow for the 30.50 mm body depth plus the bend radius of the coax behind the panel.
Compatibility and fit
Fits the Vimar Idea modular system in a 1-module opening and is intended for flush mounting in a suitable box or behind-panel support. For replacements, confirm your existing Idea frame and cover plate style so the module locks in correctly and sits flush.
Because the front connection is a BNC jack, confirm the mating plug used on your equipment lead and that your cable run uses RG58, RG59/62, or RX93 if you plan to re-terminate the coax.
Use on board
Useful when you want a tidy bulkhead or console point for a removable coax lead, such as at the nav station for RF accessories that use BNC. It is a good match when you want the coax outlet to sit in the same modular plate system as the rest of your switches and sockets.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
