Variants

This socket connector is offered in two color configurations to match different IDEA trims.

The connector format, module size, and installation method stay the same; the visible face color is what changes between versions.

• VM16361.B: Color Ivory. A warm white tone (similar to RAL 9001) that blends well with lighter interior switchgear and classic cabin finishes.
• VM16361: Color Gray. A darker grey tone (similar to RAL 7015) that pairs neatly with modern panels and darker trim colors.

Compatibility and fit

This is a flush-mounted modular device for the Vimar IDEA system and occupies two modules in the frame, so it needs an IDEA-compatible opening and mounting support sized for 2 modules. Match it with the correct IDEA frame and back box or panel-mount adapter used on your boat.

Functionally, it is for equipment that uses a 9-pin SUB-D interface. Before cutting or committing to a location, confirm the mating plug type, cable exit direction, and the pinout required by your electronics.

Installation and setup

Because termination is by soldering, allow enough working room behind the panel for clean joints and inspection. Since there is no built-in strain relief, secure the cable to the back box or nearby structure so vibration and tugging do not load the soldered connections.

IP20 means this connector belongs in protected interior spaces such as a nav station, cabin bulkhead, or an enclosed console. Avoid exposed cockpits, deck panels, or lockers that see spray or washdowns.
